I keep checking back for updates on this sinkhole. Has anyone heard what they intend to do with this. It is a huge danger to anything in the area. This just freaks me out!

We went to Mexico the last few years and they have sinkholes everywhere, but none this size. In fact, we went cave diving and the only light we had to see by was an ocassional sinkhole with a river underneath.... Just amazing and dangerous!

The city I live in have what we call "strip pits" from previous coal mining operations. The mines have been long closed but these pits are truly bottomless and can't be filled in. The water in them is a beautiful aqua and clear and we have had divers try to find the bottom but they just go forever. They are great for swimming and fishing, but very dangerous too.
