Gilgo Beach LISK Serial Killer, Rex Heuermann, charged with 3 murders, July 2023 #3

I can't recall exactly how this went, but they either got Peter to do the show because I opted out, or I found out Peter was also going to be doing the show and that added to my decision to opt out. Either way, the notion of any " torso killer " or competing serial killers was just ludicrous , imo. From my perspective, the dismembered victims were likely dismembered because they could be traced to someone specific. It was done to hamper their identification. Why else would someone take the time to try to remove Jessica Taylor's tattoo ?

Again, all just my opinion.
HAH, I said all this about a day ago back on the threads, VINDICATED. :D

(I am not a profiler of any kind, but just look at the timeline, the competing killers thing DOES NOT WORK, and the dismemberment and dispersal of body parts in the early days of DNA was still the best way to avoid ID of victims and confuse LE.)

Somehow, the way he puts emphasis on the word question, he sounds subtly angry, demanding, so creepy. imo, speculation.

'Investigators say Rex Heuermann, the man charged in three Gilgo Beach killings, used burner phones to keep up with the news surrounding the case and taunted the victims’ families from afar. Investigators have also said they found child *advertiser censored* on one of Heuermann's devices. Former homicide detective Fil Waters weighs in on "Banfield."
Regarding the first video...it drives me absolutely insane when news anchors and " experts " discuss a case and flat out don't know the facts. NONE of the GB4 were dismembered. They were strangled. Grrrrr.

Site of abduction for any victims nearest the time he established that name?
Known or unknown missing people?
he used the number 9 and some media speculated it was a victim count when he used it..
his mind is dark..
he thinks like maybe scores? Speculating
worth a search?
All is worth a search. We don't have to sleep for the next weeks. ;)

Not sure if this has been answered already, but Michael Pak, her driver , DID wait outside the house. It was when Shannan began acting strange and refusing to leave, that Brewer asked Pak to enter the home and help remove her from the residence. I've listened to the 911 call as well. Brewer seems frustrated, Pak seems clueless, and Shannan seems completely out of it and incoherent. This is just my opinion, of course, but I don't believe that Brewer or Pak ever intended to harm Shannan. What I do believe is that when Brewer and Gilbert left the home for a very brief period, they obtained drugs somewhere. And I think this may have been what added to Shannan's mental state.

All just my opinion.

When SG ran from JB's home Pak followed her in his SUV (per Coletti). At some point Pak left Oak Beach (reportedly because cops were on their way). Brewer and Pak cared only for themselves. And, it took LE a month before they tried searching for SG. Also, it took a lawsuit and years before SCPD would handover SG's 911 call. It will take a great deal more evidence for me to believe SG's death was an accident. (But, I don't think her death was at the hands of RH). jmo

Yes this also seemed to be portrayed that way in the A&E The Killing Season series. I’ve not always followed this case that closely, but there also seem to be some differences of opinion on whether the SG clothing and articles being shed (if I understand correctly) and if some of that was perhaps also partly induced by hypothermia?

I have not researched weather in that area at the time SG went missing, but if I recall it was in April or May of that year? Depending on the weather and temperatures it could also have been a factor.

I am for some reason reminded of the sad incident several years back where a new young family got stuck out on a heavy mountain road out west in cold weather. After consuming most things they had, even burning the car tires (for heat or perhaps hoping to draw attention)… the husband left to find help. If I recall he was later found deceased, devoid of most clothing and showing signs of hypothermia and effects from it.

One thing is apparent, as sad as the events of SG and her family, it seems a blessing that so much effort and attention was placed to locate or determine her fate - and what was ultimately learned. It is good the family and others pushed this.
IMO.

'Would have been interesting to hear YOU on the show!

I also remember an early Tricia-hosted call-in show... where several WS members offered their theories of the killer. I believe PBrendt was included as well as TSpider, Dwntwnslm, and IGadget. Interesting to think about now as one suspected a duck hunter. Anyone else remember that??
IGadget was the member who theorized about the SSWA- the duck hunter's club.

Yes ! I almost think it was Foreigner who came up with a suspect who was a duck hunter, but that was so many years ago, I can't be sure. But when I learned the burlap was actually camouflage burlap used in hunting, I immediately thought about that duck hunter theory.

What's REALLY interesting to me is how many of us early on referred to this serial killer as a hunter. And Dave S making the remark about the lion being able to smell a dying gazelle.

Mind blowing stuff when you look back 13 years later.

There's SOO much research on the old threads... discussion of weather conditions, sunrise/sunset, growth of weeds and brush, etc. AND much discussion on hypothermia. I've read several cases outside of this case regarding hypothermia. Yes, it's a very real thing but it just doesn't apply in SG's case (but that's jmo).

I know it's an almost insurmountable task to look through all the posts on the old threads but there's some solid info there (from minds much quicker than mine).

Two sex workers currently in Suffolk County Jail had prior contact with Heuermann and have audio recordings of him, according to the sheriff's office.

The two interacted with him through various social media platforms.

"He had reached out to them for sex," Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon said. "They had took the calls but fortunately, they did not meet with him."

Investigators are also talking to other sex workers in Suffolk County Jail, seeking anyone else who interacted with Heuermann in the past. That could expand to jails in neighboring counties and beyond.

Once Heuermann was identified as a suspect in the Gilgo Beach deaths, the Suffolk County Sheriff's office shared his distinctive physical description with inmates they knew were involved in sex trafficking. They could not share a photo of him at that time, due to the sensitivity of the investigation.

They also went through Heuermann's phone records, and realized the two sex workers serving time in the jail had previously been contacted by him. They were interviewed and provided the audio recordings.

After Heuermann was arrested, members of the jail's human trafficking unit were then cleared to show his photo to current inmates to see if any of them had contact with him. They are also reaching out to sex trafficking victims no longer in custody.

I hope they ALL talk.

Foreigner was dead set on AC4 victim, KR's, "husband." IGadet was the member who found the SSWA duck hunter's group.

About the burlap, I was angry when last week it was finally revealed that the burlap had a camouflage pattern. Can you imagine how many people would have been eliminated as possible suspect if that little tidbit had been known? Also, more tips re: people who had that type of burlap might have come from the public- especially if they had the vehicle and suspect descriptions.

Not sure if this is significant but, after seeing the body type of his wife, it occurred to me that she and Megan had a similar body type or build. Megan was the exception to the general GB4 type- as was Molly Dilts in the AC4.
Also not sure it's significant, but I thought the same thing, K. I always thought Tracey Ann Roberts looked a lot like Megan Waterman. And I also think they both are similar in appearance to RH's wife.

If we expand out to the other victims found in Gilgo and Manorville, there might be even more 'exceptions'. With the unidentified Does in particular, there's not a lot of information about how tall they might be, let alone body mass. We know Asian Doe's rough height, which is about the same as Megan's, but they were skeletal, so any estimates of weight would require information about the sizing of their clothing, which isn't public. I can't find estimates of weight or height on Peaches, Fire Island Doe, Cherries, or Lattingtown Doe. So any of these could be taller, have a more robust frame, or a curvier shape. We just don't know.

Was Lattington Doe the suggested Asian female with the gold small pig pendant?
