Vergata's legs and feet were discovered on Fire Island in 1996 before her skull was recovered near Gilgo 15 years later.

My main takeaway from this press conference:
One witness claims Heuermann had sex with the male acquaintance she arrived with.
Witness (two seperate witnesses?) claims family was in the house while sex between RH and swingers and/or sex workers was happening.
NYPD narcotics cop that went to RH's house with witness to "swing" tried to calm witness down when she became concerned with RH's treatment of (witness identifies as) Karen Vergata.
My question: was the NYPD narcotics cop an accomplice to RH?

This makes me sad... for her.
If she'd resigned herself...
But who knows what lies he told her...
Or how much congnitive dissonance she lived with.... exhausting...
Or what lies she was told.
Bet he did a lot of "mentoring" -- maybe she thought they were interns, discussing confidential matters....
And none of that would equal having any knowledge or awareness of murder.

Another witness described Heuermann as a “serial user” of sex workers who would sometimes invite two at a time to his house. During several of those encounters, Ray said, the witness told him Heuermann’s wife was upstairs.
Harrison, the police chief, said that he was present for one of the affidavits and that he continues to work with Ray to ensure that “every single stone” is turned over. Ray added that officers accompanied him to interview another witness.

John Ray, an attorney for the families of two of the women found dead along Gilgo Beach on New York’s Long Island over a decade ago, announced what he says is new evidence against Rex Heuermann. Heuermann was charged in July with the murder of three of the women found at Gilgo Beach. Ray said the new evidence connects Heuermann to two more victims, Shannan Gilbert and Karen Vergata. Heuermann has not been charged in connection to the deaths of Gilbert and Vergata.

I've always felt 100 percent that Shannen was murdered by the same killer who murdered the others..I think he didn't move her or take her anywhere because cops were out looking for her and he didn't have time or a good way to get her out of there..maybe he just dragged her back there and left. It just makes sense, that's Rex H's area and he's a serial killer of sex workers. Also he is big enough to carry a skinny young women through the bramble or to even throw a body from the bed of his truck.
there is only one Gilgo beach murderer and that is Rex..Shannen did not die of hypothermia or mania...and there is no evidence pointing to a hypothermic death.
