Thank you very much for this explanation. That makes sense, and now I understand why people were unhappy with his interview. Thanks again.

WOW! Josh Zeman says at round the 18:50 mark that Dave Schaller DID tell them on the documentary about the Chevy Avalanche.

The following is told by Zeman based on his review of documentary footage that didn't air:

Schaller said that he didn't see what happened on the night Amber Costello disappeared. However, according to Zeman, later in the interview footage, Schaller mentioned that Amber was being "stalked" by a huge man.

Starting at 19:18 mark, description given by Schaller of this huge man: "6'9", 300lbs, he's a monster, and he drove a green Avalanche"

Zeman said that he & Killing Season team missed this info. They missed it b/c they didn't think the stalker was related to the guy who actually ended up taking Amber Costello.

Edit: meant to add, Zeman basically says that they thought the guy who took AC would have been more careful
It seems to me that a lot of people missed this very important tip and this guy could have been off the streets long ago bc he wasn’t as careful and meticulous as we thought.

I don't understand how they could have excluded such an important fact from the documentary, when they picked up on so many other tips, some of which were a little more obscure? I can understand LE overlooking it if there were a lot of dysfunction or internal issues at the time, but I'm feeling a bit unsettled by this newly emerging suggestion that the whole investigative KS film team also missed it? Have they shared the original b-roll footage of DS sharing this info?

''Aug 3, 2023 Law&Crime Sidebar Podcast
Asa Ellerup’s world has been turned upside down since her husband — Rex Heuermann — was arrested for the murders of three New York women. Their bodies were found scattered along Gilgo Beach in Long Island several years ago. The Law&Crime Network’s Angenette Levy spoke with Ellerup’s attorney — Robert Macedonio — about her life before the arrest and how everything’s changed.''
I would love to know what type of husband and father was he?! Was he abusive? Has anyone heard anything about his first wife and why they were divorced? Someone wrote on websleuthes years ago something about lisk being an architect who works in the city .. so to me whoever that person was had to know it was Rex. I hope people come forward and tell if they new or believed he could of been LIsk.

I truly think bc of all the corruption with the police department it made people laser focused on other suspects and the biggest tip was right in front of everyone’s faces but when your vision is cloudy you tend to miss these things. I think this should be a big eye opener that we all can learn from whether we are amateurs sleuths or LE that we have to follow the smallest of tips and not to put all our eggs in one basket on who we as an individual feel the suspect is or could be. This case has opened my eyes a lot.

I’ve come to believe that statements like that, when not made in private with a close friend or family member, are intentionally sadistic and indicative of someone with either no adequate social boundaries or meant to scare others. Especially if an unknown male says it to a woman.
I want to know where was LE when this was happening to this girl at the park?! That is very scary!

Thanks again. It’s interesting that the 59th Street Bridge is coming up in Pak’s depo as where he picked up Shannon and then a couple of days later, he was told to pick up another escort there. 59th Street Bridge was also mentioned a few times in the RH bail doc relating to cell pings, if I’m remembering right. I suppose this is a popular spot for escorts to be picked up from. Another ”coincidence“ between Shannon and the G4. I apologize if what’s new info to me is redundant to others.

also interesting that Pak says he was convicted in 2003/4 of “misusing a passport“ to help an Asian male illegally enter the country. I’m having a hard time not letting my imagination jump to conclusions. I do hope someone is looking into any connections to RH.
Omg The Asian male!! LE should be looking into where he is .

Which member did know it? So accurate, it can't have been a confusion with another person. That's very interesting! And just as disappointing, when it took years since then for RH to be found out.

59th Street Bridge (aka Ed Koch Queensborough Bridge) is a free route into Manhattan (an island for those unfamiliar). As there is no toll, no license plate camera to capture payments for those with EZ Pass (which are in use on the toll bridges & tunnels). There are probably license plate readers now (security & LE), but not sure year would have been installed. Around the bridge in Manhattan it’s busy, noisy, mix of residential & businesses. On the other side of the bridge, in Queens, it’s much less nice - a mess of overhead subway lines and bridge upper and lower levels. Dark. The surrounding streets are mix of business, warehouses, a police station … but not a place you would want to be in the dark, unless you are looking for a dark desolate place. If you drove into work from Massapequa, long drive but many do drive, you easily take 59 St bridge … Queens by the way is very big and populous, according to Wikipedia 25% “Asian” …
He was not a Design architect. He’s the kind who do paperwork, submit permits, sign off on projects - facilitators who know the rules. He would be probably doing work in all Boroughs of NYC, including Queens.

Thanks for this info. This bridge and location are intriguing because it keeps popping up in this case. I've wondered if there is a marina here, or within a mile or two for people to keep their boats?

But, perhaps that was not the job he was brought in to do. It seems he was brought in to solve LISK (and naturally deal with current policing issues). After examining the case, he and the team made the decision to break it down into focused bits, starting with the Gilgo4 as the most solvable thread to tug first. His job does not appear to involve going back to second guess decisions already made nor to dig further into previous administrations, some of whom have already gone to prison. His appears to be a focused job, which he is accomplishing (and who knows where this investigation may actually go). To scatter himself in too many directions would negatively impact Commissioner Harrison's results.

Great guesswork @dotr! You've been following cases long enough, you've become an expert. There was a lot of guesswork happening back then, especially because of the burlap. The puzzling part was "commuting to a job in Manhattan from LI plus access to a lot of burlap".

ETA: I'll vouch for @dotr . They were here the whole time. ;)

No marina. There are a few canals, East River but risky for dumpsite because you would never know where’s there is security camera, someone looking out a window. Not the assured desolation and certainty of seeing approaching headlights like at Gilgo. Can find on google maps, there’s been a lot of development in last 20 yrs but still desolate at night.
As former Manhattan resident, you learn things like … SW and drug dealers work near the 24 hour post office depots, bridge & tunnel entries.
(I lived near the E85 street P.O. a move I regretted as had very active area below my window - noisy w SW chatter all night and people hanging by my building entry & buzzing doorbell all night to try get into vestibule to get warm). Arriving late, gone by 6am. Not sure allure of post offices … but suburban types drive in (bridge/tunnel) to get drugs and SW.

Lawyers for Heuermann’s wife, Asa Ellerup, and the lawyer for his children Victoria Heuermann and Christopher Sheridan say they are going to show never-before-seen photos of the Heuermann household.''

Do we know if RH had a previous address that would make commute using the 59th St. bridge more plausible? Since the bridge connects Queens/Midtown, are there any Queens addresses he may have lived at or worked with at the time? I apologize if this has been asked already, have not been able to keep up with the threads. Brings up for me the call made that mentioned a "w**** house in Queens." I was also thinking about the handcuff keys that were supposedly found at the residence. Is it possible he (or someone) pretended to be an undercover cop and told Maureen he was "arresting" her, then took her in the opposite direction of a police station?

Random thoughts.
