Somewhat short Youtube RH video dated 7/18/23 by Winter Bros
Not sure if this was shared here or not but will post just in case.

The simple and sad answer is that he (and other men like this) just hate women. They see us as objects for their pleasure - whatever that looks like to them - and they don't see us as complex human beings. The fact that he targeted sex workers also makes me think he thought poorly of them and maybe saw them as less of a "loss" because of their line of work. Its extremely depressing.

ETA: anybody capable of these crimes also is likely to be a psychopath and just completely lack empathy, especially for those outside their families.
no psych credentials here but my random impression of this is that he was drawn to these women but then infuriated that "they attracted him" (!) so he had to get rid of them. IMO. curious what his parents were like; curious if they were strict because he spent a lot of time hiding his activities from his family and having different personalities. also curious if this was sex or just violence or both or what it was. if you have a lot of desires but then need to kill anyone you are ever with, your life is on a collision course IMO. He has denied everything, so not sure if there will be any "explanation" as might come with a confession. 200+ guns is a lot to even fit in a small house and did he have ammo for all of them and fully keep track of them? news sites say he was an "avid hunter"

what was he supposedly hunting? deer ? ducks? varmints? did he really hunt or was it a reason to have guns and tromp around?

Absolute trash journalism imo by the nyt. The family are victims. Go after the monster not his family. I am so glad that nasty neighbor quoted is not in my area. Also the store clerk would be looking for a new job if I ran that IGA. Heartless and thoughtless. Imo

yep I'm disappointed in the NYT for publishing that

This would fit with RH also seeming to be a hoarder. He doesn't like to get rid of anything.

That said, the fact RH googled LISK instead of Gilgo Beach Killer gives me a lot of pause. If he was reading about the case he would be aware of both names and why they're different, and yet he still chose to Google the one that seems to be an umbrella name for all of the murders.

good point!

Can food stamps be given just to anybody?
I thought they are given to ppl who provide evidence of being destitute/bankruptcy.
I am thinking for the disabled son if he is an adult he will qualify for food stamps on his own.

Could you clarify what designer? I'm behind and trying to catch up. TIA
Yes, there was an interview with an interior designer named Katherine Shepard in the DM in which she said she had been invited to RH's house in 2005 to look over and measure the place in preparation for a kitchen reno. She saw the locked basement room and RH told her no one is permitted in there. He said because of the guns.

It's interesting because the first of the G4 wasn't killed until two years later. I wonder if that has implications for the possibility of earlier victims.

I'm not sure why exactly, but her account doesn't ring true to me.

For one thing, why would a woman in her mid-twenties accept a date from then 49-year-old RH? He wasn't exactly a looker.

That might sound shallow, but I was a woman in my mid-twenties once.
maybe not really a "date"....and we do not know if he lied in how he initially approached her- lied about his age/income/marital status etc. IMO just possibilities

I can't seem to figure out or have yet to read how RH's wife's hair was at the crime scene, or what is the connection? If his family was out of town during the killings, how did a strand or two of the wife's hair come into play. Is there thoughts that the victims were taken back to the house, or just trying to piece that together. I mean it can lead to a theory that there is more to this story than what we know... Just some thoughts.
wife's hair could have been in his vehicle(s)

The person interviewed at the IGA grocery store said that she watched the children grow up over the 25 or so years while the family shopped at their store. So the food stamps could have been used a long time ago, it may have been just something she remembered from the past, it wasn't specified in the article.

If RH bought his mother's home in 1994 and then started his own business/architectural firm that year or a year or two after (I don't remember the exact date), then I would think that it would have been some time before there would have been much income coming in. They may have been eligible for food stamps when the children were quite young, until the business began to generate income they could live on.
Since it has been reported that there is a son with special needs it may be possible that he qualifies for SSDI which is a type of disability that may receive food stamps.

I just googled RH's name with "avid hunter" and he was reported to be an "avid hunter" in the very earliest reports.

Nothing reported since then that I can recall to indicate he was an "avid hunter," in the sense of someone who enthusiastically hunts animals.

I wonder where the initial "avid hunter" info came from?

Yeah, I also have family who have worked in that side of things, but I am in a different country. My mother-in-law worked for the RSPCA for twenty years. So I was going off my knowledge of her organisation, and from what I've seen on tv. LE don't just leave animals wandering around a crime scene. They call in folks to remove them so that they can work safely and so that the animals aren't disturbing evidence at the scene. It's about the safety of everyone involved, animal and human alike.

MOO

the cat was in a live trap when they removed him/her so it's likely they had the trap set from the beginning and the cat finally went in it (animal rescuer here)

Missing Persons in Owned Land Area States - Initial, Indicative Statistical Analysis

I am doing some number crunching on missing persons in potential areas of interest to this case, beginning with New York State. I will drill down to areas closer to Long Island shortly.

Sleuths, if you think I should change 'cut-off' criteria, like heights, ages and date of last contact, then let me know, as I have not had time to look up the height range preference of the def, or checked the potential active years - it's in previous replies.

Although my knowledge of US geography is not great as I must admit that I am not from the States, I understand the defendant has property in: Las Vegas, South Carolina and Long Island.

At the moment I am looking only at data on missing persons with a New York State tag [update: I'm expanding the dataset to now include: Nevada + South Carolina].

If anyone can pass me the further detail around the names of the towns/cities/states/locations where the defendant had the land + properties, and the same for land identified as potential dumping ground, let me know, and I will expand the search and start drilling down.

This should include if possible out-of-state if appropriate (e.g. if land is on a state border).

Include also any towns/names of any lake, reservoir and beach areas, potentially forest areas as well.

It would be especially helpful if you could provide the names of the nearest towns/cities/boroughs (e.g. Bronx, etc) to (a) Long Island itself; (b) the def's Manhattan office (presumably Manhattan, but give surrounding); (c) Any known red light / cruising areas in New York, especially those near to arterial roads to Long Island.

Caveats: Not quality assured; not for wider sharing; no vouch for accuracy
Source: Analysis of US Government Data.

NB For insight to those interested, this is exactly the sort of "quick and dirty" message I would be sending internally to colleagues in the NYPD or wherever, if I was starting out on this from a standing start, and providing analytical support at pace.
There were several murdered girls, known sex workers, found off the Belt Pkwy. inthe 2010s. The Belt goes out to L.I. through Bklyn and Queens. A person driving from Midtown Manhattan could use this route going home to Massapequa Park. These killings are cold cases.

That's what I figure too, since the cat was only removed today on what? the 4th day of searches?

I hope poor kitty is now happily reunited with its hoomans. It's been a rough few days.

Damn that RH. He causes suffering, even down to his family's cat.

Is this the first time LE is giving information about those dolls being left at the makeshift memorials for the deceased girls?

Was it Rex’s green truck?
Who knows ?
but the screenshot(s) were taken from google & bing maps when this case first broke in 2011 , The maps had been updated but you could go back and see the older maps . I have not one expectation that ,WS members did this research and LE investigating did not do this. If we did ,they did for clarity.
LE by now should of gotten that and any other parked car information from screen shots pictures -as they are pictures from a mapping site ,the entire world relies - and been able to read the plates from that truck by tracking the digital trail. Or should have been able to do that. Not sure how long those records are kept .
My guess is that that data bank has expired by now and if they do not have that information it is ONLY because they did not want to have it ,or did have it and waited for a certain reason. IMOO... at some point this conversation should be saved.

I do believe we should have checked flight records for small airports during this time.Nearest to where the bodies where found.

Oh wow, I didn't know there was actual footage of the cat being removed.

Yeah, if it was in a live trap, it's likely they couldn't get near it. I imagine it must have been confined to one bit of the house until now, though, because there's been a constant flow of cops and CSIs in and out of there for days. If - say - the cat was an indoor cat, living in the garage, they probably could have put the live trap in there with food inside and shut the door, checking occasionally, and just focused on the other parts of the home until it was safely in the cage. Poor thing.

MOO

Flipped and zoomed in just a bit and that second frame looks very suspect.

ty now I do see a person as others have said but not kneeling ... looks like sitting on a stool or box?
