Would be more acceptable IMO if the money were donated to the SK victim’s families, regardless of who is offered the money for the story.

MOO
That would be a different story if all the profits were going toward the victims' families!

Just as I typed that, it also dawned on me how the SK own family is impacted. Not an easy answer either way, if SK was the provider/breadwinner. Affects everyone not doing the killing, obviously. Sad.

Any amount is too much for the wife and family of a SK, profiting off of the deaths of innocent people. For me, it's outrageous they can benefit from this!
MOO.
There are always docuseries, books and movie deals for these kinds of cases so it makes sense that there will be something on the LISK.

IMHO it's too soon and also in poor taste.

Society as a whole is impacted by what these misfits do. In what kind of world do we live where the family of an alleged SK can come out of it as millionaires? What incentive does that give a prospective SK in the future? The SK's are already so twisted that they might think their families will be better off if/when they do get caught. It's insanity IMO.

Well, she's classified as a victim here and off limits for discussion. It's the benefiting from her husband's crimes that I find unbelievable and I do hope it does not proceed. MOO.
Well thanks for the heads up. I didn’t know about the off limits thing. And yes, I see no situation, whether she knew or not, where profiting off the murder of others is good in her position… being the wife and all.

IMO:
It will be interesting to see if AE is in court tomorrow since she and her children recently moved to South Carolina and they have the Peacock deal.
A deal that we know zilch about except for the amounts they and their lawyers received.

Is the old family "target" home occupied ? Rented out ? Vacant ? - Hmmmmm

It will be interesting if Stewie makes an appearance in court !! (said in cynical voice)

Roll out the circus !! (oppsie did I say that out loud)

Shes not getting paid for her appearance, just for archival footage she provides. The money cant go to RHs defense.

All of the victims families were offered an opportunity to appear but they either declined or did not respond

A Peacock spokesperson said Ellerup was not paid for her involvement, but she was given a licensing fee so the company could use her archival materials.

The spokesperson said that Ellerup will have no creative control over the project and the money she received cannot go to Heuermann or be used for his defense

A Peacock spokesperson told CBS New York that Ellerup "was not paid for her participation, but was paid a licensing fee for use of her archive materials," which cannot go to Heuermann or his defense.

Peacock said it reached out to the victims' families to appear in the documentary, but all either declined or did not respond.

I can't figure out exactly what entails AE's archival material?
Family photos?

I don't know if in Nov 2023 Peacock's camera crew following AE into court was a one time event.

District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney will hold a press conference following a court proceeding in Riverhead, New York, in the People of the State of New York v. Rex A. Heuermann, to update and announce a new significant development in the investigation.

I wonder what's up? It says "significant new development".

Since they're still in pretrial, perhaps he's ready to make a plea deal? Other victims linked to him?

Great news about Tierney and I hadn't thought of plea deal.

imo:
Maybe AE booting out of town was due to her knowing something big was coming in?
It would take quite a bit of time for a deal to be agreed on and I assume she would have been privy to knowing it was in the works.
Works that sure would give her the answers she claims to have been waiting for.

Looks like another connection could have been made.

"Tierney, Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon, Jr., Acting Suffolk County Police Commissioner Robert Waring, representatives of the New York State Police, as well as additional representatives of the Gilgo Beach homicide investigation task force, are slated hold a press conference following a court proceeding in Riverhead, the DA said."

Good point. Maybe she felt free to leave if some deal was in the works. I've always wondered if she hired attorneys and stuck around because she might also be charged for helping with one of the other murders.

That IMO is an interesting development. I wonder if the ‘water temperature’ for that initial deal changed or proved too hot to handle? IMO the whole deal as earlier announced just seemed inappropriate. Profiting in the wake of multiple women and girl’s deaths. IIRC there was also an awful lot of complaining for investigators having ‘wrecked’ the residence. That also in the presence of multiple homicides and deaths. SMH.

And I know it has been debated at length, but it still doesn’t seem entirely clear how the wife or family could be in attendance during court proceedings ……. if they might ultimately be called or placed as witnesses (for either the prosecution or defense). IMO there are often cases where possible future witnesses are removed from the courtroom for reasons related to their testimony, other’s testimony, and evidence. MOO
