Gilgo Beach LISK Serial Killer, Rex Heuermann, charged with 7 murders, July 2023 #16

Mar 27, 2025
'The frantic 911 call made by Shannen Gilbert, then her disappearance, led to a horrifying discovery by police in Long Island. Ten bodies were found, all sex workers, suggesting that a serial killer was on the loose. Ultimately, family man Rex Heuermann, a Manhattan architect, was arrested and charged with the murders of seven women. He pleaded not guilty and is currently awaiting trial. The new Netflix series “Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer,” streaming March 31, tells the whole tragic story in all it’s shocking details of the sex workers who were almost overlooked.'

"A hearing on the matter is now scheduled to begin on Friday, with both sides expected to call a total of eight witnesses, including a doctor and other experts, without a jury present, CBS News reports."

Alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex A. Heuermann and estranged wife Asa Ellerup reach divorce settlement

Pay wall and I haven't been able to find any other media coverage.
Did she get the infamous Massapequa house of horrors?

His firearm collection that collectors of serial killer's belongings are drooling over getting their hands on if she auctions/sells them off?

"The terms of the divorce settlement, like all divorces in New York State, are not public."

There are no details in the story.
It's a sham of a divorce anyway IMO.
But she'll still go to all proceedings with cameras in tow in support of the big galoot for $1M+ dollars to see for herself if she believes he's guilty. And yet, she was married to him for almost 30 years and "didn't see, hear, smell, suspect a thing" out of the ordinary.
MOO.

Due to NY law, none of that info is public

She'll be a divorcee once the judge signs the agreement so I gather the state can call her as a witness if RH goes to trial(s)?

Isn't it interesting that the new series "Happy Face" on Paramount focuses on the daughter of the serial killer, and it was the "Happy Face" killer's daughter who jumped in to help the Heuermann family? I've been wondering if the same "agent" handled the Paramount and Peacock deals. Or did she jump in to help the Heuermann family because she was already working on getting her own book published and hoping to sell movie rights? Which came first? BTW I haven't yet watched any of the "Happy Face" episodes.

Wife and daughter are there

It appears Newsday is running a huge sale rn ( 25 cents for 6 months) it'll definitely be something you want once the trial starts

There's a lot more info in that article

I have no idea which came first and I've had similar questions to the relationship.
MM organized the fundraiser for AE and when it was news that AE signed with Peacock MM closed it down.
Or did MM figure AE had enough $$$ now so no need to ask for more ?
I was curious, and hoped that MM found AE's move unconscionable and/or it could reflect bad on her?
MM also could have found AE's publicly defending RH an over-reach for her.
We don't know what MM may think about RH because the state has some mighty damning evidence against him.
I also wondered if MM will be appearing in AE's documentary?

We'll probably never know the answers to any of our questions..

IMO:

What drives me absolutely mad and I have yet to see the media address this is when AE gave this statement and since then when her attorney BM repeats it over and over to the press.

Paraphrasing:
All AE/my client knows is what the media is reporting and she wants to see for herself.
See what I want to know.

There's the arrest warrant, indictment, superseding indictment and they want us to believe that it never crossed her mind to read them all because the media uses them to report on her husband and uses mostly bits & pieces.

IMO

I hope Judge Mazzei lets the Geno/Nuclear DNA evidence in as evidence knowing that if RH is found guilty in one or more trials that his defense will appeal and whether the Geno DNA is let in or not the state's Mitochondria DNA will probably be #1 in the appeal.
