Gilgo Beach LISK Serial Killer, Rex Heuermann, charged with 7 murders, July 2023 #16

Ellerup's legal Team, Bob Macedonio and Ginenne Pugliese told The Daily Mail that the corruption has left her questioning the state of the investigation into her now ex-husband.

'Was Heuermann framed? Ellerup has theorized the possibility of this being the case especially after watching the new Netflix drama Gone Girls (2025) which confirms the major corruption that persisted throughout Suffolk County and the subsequent impact on innocent defendants and their loved ones,

'They all fell victim to the corruption that ensued, why should this case be any different. One thing is certain, Ellerup hopes that Justice will prevail and no matter how these heinous crimes happened her sincere sympathies extend to the victims families.'

Main problem with her hopeful theory? A completely different regime and a new investigation. Plus, Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison. Having watched and listened to him, I believe Ellerup's hopes completely unreasonable. Not to mention what appears to be the quality of the evidence we've been allowed to see.

However, perhaps hope is all she has left.

BBM
Justice will prevail. RH will be held accountable.
And Gone Girls doesn't have to submit evidence. I wouldn't want to state my "claim" based off of a movie.

Bless her heart.

Of course AE and the children don’t want RH’s involvement to be true but IMHO AE has shown enough wherewithal to have signed onto some significant “self care” (i.e., immediate divorce filing, documentary rights).

AE’s stance, furthering the dialogue on potential corruption adds to press coverage — more publicity, more drama, more benefits — advance marketing and richer content for the Peacock documentary. MOO.

Asa Ellerup and Victoria Heuermann - dressed head to toe in a vibrant, multicolored outfit - looked on from the fourth row of the courtroom at the hearing

''Brown pushed that something being accepted by the scientific community might not be the same as being accepted in a criminal court.

At that point, the judge scolded Brown, saying: ‘Isn’t that my decision to make?’

Judge Mazzei went on to make it clear that whether or not it is accepted in his courtroom in New York will be his decision.

Heuermann’s legal team is seeking to sow doubts in the DNA technology used in the case - branding it ‘magic’ that has never been used before in a criminal case in New York.

He is asking the judge to throw out the DNA evidence allegedly tying Heuermann to the murders.

Prosecutors are fighting back, arguing the method is well-regarded in the scientific community.''

Freak show.

…Likening courtrooms their own scientific communities, Brown asked if a single instance of nuclear DNA evidence being used in court proceedings — in Idaho v Dalrymple — constitutes being “widely accepted in the scientific community” enough to be admissible evidence in court.
That prompted Judge Timothy Mazzei, who generally remains silent throughout the court proceedings, stepped in.

“That’s my decision to make,” he told Brown. “Isn’t that the whole reason for this hearing?”

Brown replied: “I’m trying to narrow the witness down.”

When Mazzei pressed Brown on what “narrow down” meant, Brown added: “He’s making broad statements about acceptance in the scientific community, but what about this community?”

Mazzei shook his head, seemingly baffled. Brown began to reiterate that nuclear DNA evidence was only used in a trial during one Idaho case.

“Whether it’s accepted in one state or 49 states, whether it’s accepted in this court is my decision,” Mazzei said, ending the line of questioning.

This doc from the CW had a bunch of new to me info. I am sad to report, though, that it doesn't really discuss the "surprise" victim SC or anyone other than the Gilgo Four. Those women deserve to be humanized and there is basically no info in any of these new documentaries about their lives.
