Gilgo Beach LISK Serial Killer, Rex Heuermann, charged with 7 murders, July 2023 #16

Here's the link for the John Ray interview I'm noting above:
Just if anyone's interested, the part where she says they left in a different vehicle's at 18:30.

Thankyou to all who post links to articles and videos- not always easy to find up to date information here in Aus and some block the access due to country restrictions even on YT. We cannot watch Peacock here for example due to regulations (not even with a VPN as you need a US payment method ) I am dying to see it.

Can’t see it either. Would love an executive summary.

Peacock Series Summary by Mrs.A:

Episode 1 - Basically a summary of the case up to the arrest of Rex. Focused heavily on the Gilgo Four. If the viewer is familiar with the case they probably won't learn anything new. The Hueremann/Ellerup content is used as preview clips.

Episodes 2 & 3 - These two episodes walk the viewer through the charges and evidence chronologically as well as the families reactions.

Guest speakers include reporters that have all spoken and written pretty extensively on the case. But they don't add new information and do speculate some. For example, Alexis Linkletter proposes that since Rex had already been killing and knew what type of person he could manipulate and thus hand-picked Asa as a partner.

Rex’s bff, David Jimenez, also speaks on the show. He implies that Rex basically told him that he is guilty when he visited him in prison. He is revealed to be the mystery visitor that had been mentioned in the media.

Kerri Rawson goes to visit the family and has genuine compassion for them as Rex’s victims because of how he is a psychopath and their thinking and reactions should not be judged.

Christopher, Rex’s adopted son, is respectfully only featured talking about the garage before and after the investigators go in the house. He is present living life in the footage but he is not exploited, IMHO, because of his disability.

Victoria has an arc of thinking from doubt to acceptance that Rex is guilty.

Asa steadfastly sticks to her mantra that Rex is a family man and doesn't even use the services of sex workers. All the guests, even her own lawyer Macedonio, think she is in denial and blind to the evidence.

The footage in the house shows that this family lives in a physical and emotional mess. It seems that everyone accepts clutter and dysfunction in the house, it's normalized. Asa and Victoria refer to the investigation as “a raid” and feel very victimized by the encroachment of their home to find evidence.

So many family photos are shown and they all appear to show a normal looking family on vacation and going through life.

There is minimal inclusion about how the family feels about the victims or Rex’s sexual sadism, apparent in his internet use, without even considering the murders themselves.

RIGHT, I forgot all about this, the iron. Ok, I looked this up, I think (?) that's a different witness, but that actually makes it even weirder, jmo. Because okay, with this far-fetched hypothetical idea of an AE lookalike being hired by RH, that would mean this lookalike showed up on multiple occasions. I mean, I find it difficult enough to try and buy that AE lookalike theory (and it's my theory, lol). This makes it even harder to even try to run with that theory, jmo. I suppose it's still possible, but would RH really go around divulging any kind of true information to someone about his wife? I mean, with the swinger witness, an AE lookalike would at least know another country was involved where RH's spouse was concerned.

RH is definitely enough of a freak to hire an AE lookalike, jmo. But I don't know he'd be inclined to divulge any kind of true info in such a scenario. The only thing that still makes me wonder is this:

I don't know that it doesn't match at all, it matches somewhat, but jmo. But this is why I really do still wonder about an AE lookalike. Because totally agreed that it doesn't line up completely,

Also, here's something interesting, too. When I was researching @Betty P note about the iron, I caught John Ray noting something else about the swinger witness. That witness and her cop bf (he was a cop, I believe, right?) came to the house in one vehicle but left in a different vehicle. And JR thinks there's an implication that the cop had some association with RH as a result of that (which does seem logical).

THAT is really weird. Has anyone ever heard this thing about them leaving in a different vehicle from the one they came in?
My hypothesis is that Rex was in charge of cleaning the car Karen was picked up in of traces of Karen. I've never seen anything to support or refute the hypothesis. One thing that would refute it would be if the witness and cop had not at all hidden her at pick-up, gas stations, etc.

It is a bizarre detail that the vehicle was changed at Rex's house. I agree that it shows a lot of interpersonal trust between Rex and the cop.

MOO

Gosh, here’s to hoping that swinger-cop wasn’t the bad apple in some ”under cover” sting. If so, we’ll never get to know the truth surrounding Karen’s case.

IMHOOO

I feel like those swinger parties were real...it's just a vibe I get..I don't know what the deal is with Asa, she seems delusional. Also Victoria, she is young but still living at home, working at her dad's office...etc..like this family is living all 4 adults in this tiny 1100 sq ft house..filled to the rafters with boxes and boxes of detritus and junk.. they are so enmeshed it starts to feel like a trauma bond in the documentary. Victoria went from being a very pretty young lady to covering herself with piles of clothes and scarves, as though she is guarding herself from the world. Her artwork is very disturbed and I would like to know more about why she likes these subject matters so much...subject matters that seem to echo her father's crimes.

also her artwork is pristine and perfect, her website ( when it was viewable) was beautifully realized..such a dichotomy from her actual life...it's all very strange, Rex's perfect pristine office, Victoria's graphically perfect website..and then that house!!!! ..I will be consumed with this story for a long time...it's just all so weird. mOO

Typical collector/nerd behaviour. I don’t find it strange.

If you don’t settle for anything less than near perfect (cuz nothing can ever be perfect) — well then you have to pick your battles.

Right, understood, but... Green Acres house? Seriously, it looks like the house from Green Acres:

Clearly, the home's exterior was one of these unselected battles. And it just seems quite an extreme loss, jmo.

If (the true) AE is adopted and denies the fact, she might have lied to certain people (ie. on swinger parties) or maybe lied always. MOO

She’s been lying to herself about living a normal life in a broken down hoarder house. They were both employed and could have made repairs on the property. I guess there is a possibility of having a huge amount of debt.

Has there been any information about the price he paid his mother for the property?

This from an architect. It defies logic and it’s another sign of weirdness. If my child was invited over for a playdate I would have gently declined. I wonder if Victoria was embarrassed to invite friends over.

The demeanor of both Asa and her daughter seem more "dissociative" than delusional. This would mean they knew, on some level, and couldn't reconcile what they knew with Rex's good qualities so they "split" or dissociated. They both need really good professional help. -- Adding that I've seen this dynamic both professionally and in my very close personal family. It can be quite spooky seeing the degree to which a severely traumatized person can dissociate from reality and deny the truth. Its very much akin to split personaliy but there is no "different" personality to escape to. They just deny within themselves the part too traumatic to process.

Yes, I tend to think RH allowed it to be like that because he didn’t want to seem inviting to ppl. Having neighbours trotting around, knocking on the door etc, might not be optimal for murdering girls.

Having just looked at a panorama view of oak beach I’m wondering….why on earth didn’t he get a house like that instead? Privacy-wise it’s so much better.

On the same topic, the growing garden was also well cared for. Remember the vegetables and the green houses? I felt like tossing a salad. But I wouldn't want to do it in that kitchen!

I do think that their house is their business, not mine, and it really doesn't matter if I want to live there or not. But it is quite atypical to the point that neighbors were afraid.

That the house was scarily unkempt to the point of repelling trick-or-treaters protects the house from outsiders, and further isolates/trauma bonds the residents. Just a theory.

Thankyou so much it is greatly appreciated !

If he was an ordinary architect - yes. But add sk and it makes perfect sense to keep the exterior of the house as repellent as possible.

Warning flag? Oh yeah.
Logical? Yeah, how could he kill people in his house if little kids were running around where they shouldn’t be.

Or showing adult visitors around - the vault door is one giant red flag, for starters. Who wouldn’t be shocked seeing that?
