The sun has returned to LA(Lower Alabama) I’m sure happy to see it after more than a week of gloomy, gray skies. We are going to spend the afternoon putting our Christmas tree up and putting some decorations out. Will be happy for that chore to be completed.

Oops, posted on the wrong thread.😬

Good morning!
Good morning to you too! It’s so cold here that I think what’s left of my brain might be frozen! 🥶

It’s been wintry cold for us since Thanksgiving. I know it’s not the same as your cold. Stay warm!

Oh Dear Friend!!!

How to prepare a drink that will warm you up on this cold day?
It's simple -
pour 200 ml of boiling water over your favorite tea
and add 50 ml of strong alcohol.
Polish Vodka :D
or rum will work perfectly in your case.

Warm hugs 😘

You too! Have you had snow yet? We had a little last week, but a little more is coming tonight.

Oh I hope we don’t. We are about 20 miles north of Florida. It doesn’t snow often here. Last winter was the exception and the had a good foot of snow and the roads were iced in for a week. The whole area was shut down because we don’t have the equipment to deal with icy roads here.

Here in central Raleigh, NC, we got our first itty bit of snow. We'll get more, of course, but hoping for just a little bit...
Stay warm, and hope for an early spring.

GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY THREAD
WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 10TH 2025

Good morning everyone.
I promise I will be around more starting today. Just trying to get caught up on my work projects.
Keep up the great posts.
Today in 1932 the great Emu war ended.
This is the craziest story
I think this is a pregnant opossum. It looks like a blob of fur. But i love 'em.

The best thing about the Emu War is that we lost. To giant, flightless birds with tiny brains.

I NEED HELP NOW PLEASE

Someone convince me this calico is not pregnant. I finally got a local charity to agree to help trap and spay/neuter these cats. They said they’d call me back with traps and instructions… and now it’s radio silence.

I don’t blame them — rescues are drowning right now — but I’m scared I’m running out of time. If you know the signs, if you’ve been through this, or if you have advice on what I should do next, please jump in. I’m all ears.
Please, anything you can offer. I have tried calling everyone. I live in the Dallas area.
You gave me great ideas once before, but now I am afraid she is pregnant. If she is pregnant, any ideas on how I can help her would be appreciated.
They have a heating pad in that box. They won't go into the cat house with a heating pad I have for them. Just the flipping box it came in.

This story is the best story. I hope you all will read up on the great Emu war, where, like @iamshadow21 said, humans lost out to giant flightless birds with tiny brains. LOL
The Emu War was a bizarre 1932 Australian military operation in Western Australia where soldiers armed with machine guns were deployed to cull around 20,000 destructive emus that were ruining crops, but the operation failed spectacularly as the fast, resilient birds proved impossible to target effectively, leading the military to withdraw in defeat and the event becoming a famous symbol of human overreach against nature.

I can’t tell @Tricia. When she stands, is she bulging a little on each side? ETA: I reached out to some friends in the rescue business up here, but it’s a long shot.

It's hard to tell with the way she is laying. How old are the kittens...if you know...

I had a feral mom that was still nursing 2 month old kittens and was already pregnant again. I didn't realize she was until I found the new ones abandoned in the hay barn. I bottle fed the only abandoned survivor and he's my very precious baby now...even though he's 13 years old.

I bought a trap and got them all neutered and spayed. I will buy you a trap Tricia and send it to you...they are easy to trap using hot dogs as bait. But you will need to get arrangements made for spay and neutering.

I can’t tell by the photo either. I sure hate that you are trying to reach out for help in your area and aren’t getting a response.

Agree about the TNR. My friend said that’s the best option. Wish I could do more. 😢
