Hello everyone 👋

Guess what?

There is ONE Christmas song which is an absolute hit in my country.

It is always played in the radio during this season.

My pupils love it,
and even those who rarely "give voice" during lessons,
sing their heads off when I play it in class just before Christmas holiday 🎄

Ladies and Gentlemen -
George Michael and eternal Last Christmas.

The video starts with black screen, just wait a few second and George appears in his full Glory :D

Anyone who played the song just lost Whamageddon!

I did all my shopping online this year, so five days out I haven't lost yet!

Happy Birthday Tricia! :)

Yes, it is my birthday. I'm not saying this for attention; I only bring it up because, Jeesh, is this not the most boring "This Day in History" list EVER? NOTHING happened on my birthday. Well, that's not quite true. I mean, the Yule Tide Log aired on TV. That's bone chilling sweat inducing exciting stuff right there. LOL

Wait there, I seem to recall that Leonid has showers.

He prefers them to baths...

THANK GOODNESS HE WAS OK. What a little stinker.
If I hadn’t been so relieved and overjoyed, I would’ve wrung his little neck (just kidding).

GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY THREAD
FRIDAY DECEMBER 19TH 2025
  • 1843 – A Christmas Carol was published.
Charles Dickens released A Christmas Carol on this day, giving the world Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the timeless reminder that it’s never too late to change. Honestly, not a bad vibe for a birthday this close to the holidays.
  • 1964 – The first airing of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
That slightly creepy but lovable stop-motion classic debuted on TV. Generations of kids were both delighted and mildly unsettled — a true holiday tradition.
  • 1972 – Apollo 17 returned to Earth.
This was the last time humans walked on the Moon. So yes, your birthday is officially tied to moon landings. No pressure.
  • 1980 – The Yule Log aired on TV.
New York station WPIX broadcast a crackling fireplace for hours… and somehow it became iconic. Proof that sometimes doing almost nothing becomes legendary.

So December 19 gave us redemption stories, misfit heroes, moonwalkers, and cozy chaos — which feels pretty appropriate for a birthday like yours..
