I miss Fruit Tingles.

A fruit tingle is a sherbet sweet.

There's a cocktail that tastes just like it IF it is measured and made correctly.

Blue Curacao. Vodka. Ideally, grenadine (NOT raspberry cordial). A clear lemonade like Sprite.

It should be a true, clear purple once you mix it up. If it's blue, there's too much Curacao and it will taste too liquoricey.

ACK at blue curacao! Long ago I had a cream colored purse stained beyond hope from a spilled drink made with blue curacao. Surprised that stuff is still around. Not telling how long ago that event was. lol

I don't like it on its own, but it's good in this.

I used to drink Midori, too. I don't know if I'd like it now. Illusions were big when I came of age, you used to be able to buy a jug full.

MOO

GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY THREAD ON WEDNESDAY MAY 6TH 2026
What cracks me up is "Chatty" (my name for my Chat GPT) only gives me just a few things when I ask it for what happened this day in history. So everything must have stopped after 2004 and no one else died after 1992. Hahahaha.

This Day in History — May 6

1527 — The Sack of Rome

Troops loyal to Holy Roman Emperor Charles V stormed and brutally looted Rome. The event marked a major turning point in the Italian Renaissance and weakened the political power of the papacy.

1851 — The Crystal Palace Opens

The Great Exhibition opened in London inside the famous Crystal Palace. Organized under the guidance of Prince Albert, it showcased inventions and industrial advances from around the world.

1882 — The Chinese Exclusion Act Signed

The United States passed the Chinese Exclusion Act, the first major U.S. law restricting immigration based on nationality.

1937 — The Hindenburg Disaster

The German airship LZ 129 Hindenburg burst into flames while attempting to land in Lakehurst. Thirty-six people were killed, and the tragedy effectively ended the era of passenger airships.

1954 — Roger Bannister Breaks the Four-Minute Mile

Roger Bannister became the first person to run a mile in under four minutes, finishing in 3 minutes 59.4 seconds in Oxford.

1994 — The Channel Tunnel Opens

The Channel Tunnel connecting England and France officially opened, revolutionizing travel between the two countries.

2004 — Final Episode of Friends

The hugely popular TV show Friends aired its final episode after 10 seasons, drawing over 50 million viewers in the United States alone.

Ok I need to train "Chatty" (my name for Chat GPT) to do a much better job on what happened on this day in history. Here is another pathetic list.

This Day in History — May 7

1915 — The Lusitania Sinks

The British ocean liner RMS Lusitania was torpedoed by a German U-boat off the coast of Ireland during World War I. Nearly 1,200 people died. The disaster helped turn public opinion against Germany and pushed the United States closer to entering the war.

1945 — Germany Surrenders in World War II

Germany officially surrendered to Allied forces in Reims, bringing an end to World War II in Europe. The surrender was signed by German General Alfred Jodl. Victory in Europe Day, known as VE Day, would be celebrated the following day.

1952 — The Integrated Circuit Concept Announced

Inventor Geoffrey Dummer publicly described the idea of the integrated circuit, a breakthrough that would eventually lead to modern computers and smartphones.

1975 — The Fall of Saigon Officially Ends

Although Saigon fell on April 30, the Vietnam War officially concluded as U.S. President Gerald Ford declared the war officially over for America.

1992 — The 27th Amendment Ratified

The Ratification of the Twenty-seventh Amendment became part of the U.S. Constitution. It prevents members of Congress from giving themselves immediate pay raises.

May 7th is a reminder
of how deeply our lives have shifted to the digital world.

It demonstrates that the Internet offers enormous opportunities today,
but at the same time,
it requires common sense, safety, and informed use of new technologies.

I'm good at forgetting my numerous passwords 😵‍💫
And they advise to make them as complicated as possible:
letters, digits, big, small, hyphens, all random, etc, etc.

Aaaargh!!!
