One New Years Eve was the fastest I've ever moved in my life.
Spent with friends who gave me a lift home.
It was only a few minutes drive. I really could have walked it but my friends insisted.
My heart sank when I saw the only seat left in the car, next to the only person in the group who I would have avoided if I could.
I was sitting there saying my goodbye to my friends, we'd just pulled up outside my house when out of the corner of my eye I could see these horrible lips aiming for my cheek,
I jumped out like the devil himself was after me. So those awful lips never made contact
There was fallout from what I did.
This person had loaned my friends money which he demanded back the very next day.
Also they told me he complained that I "let him shout me drinks all night"
Which was not true, he shouted everyone alcoholic drinks, well really just filled the jugs up.
I bought my own soft drinks in a bottle.
Another friend suggested I put some money in an envelope to give to him.
I gave it to my friends who dropped it in his letterbox. I had no idea where he lived.
On the note I wrote "this is payment for the drinks"
All these years later I'm glad I I took my friends advice re the money, it wasn't for the creep, it was for me and it made me feel like I'd done all I could. It put an end to the incident in my mind.
All other New Years were just the usual.
