In the early morning hours of December 28, 2003, Gordon Wolfe activated the security alarm at his residence at 59355 Bremen Highway in Mishawaka, IN. Who or what caused Mr. Wolfe to activate his alarm is still unknown but by the time police were able to get to his house Gordon Wolfe had been shot in the chest and was dead. Unfortunately, the type of firearm used in killing Mr. Wolfe was never disclosed. Police did disclose in 2010 that the shot that killed Mr. Wolfe was fired from the front of his house. An interesting fact about the shooting is that when police arrived at the house the breezeway by which they entered was unlocked.

What make this case interesting is that the timeline of events has never been established. What did Mr. Wolfe see or hear that caused him to set off the security alarm at his house? Was it a knock at the door or the sound of someone trying to break in? Was only one shot fired? Did the perpetrator enter the house after shooting? Sadly details regarding this murder have been pretty non-existent since the incident took place and police don’t seem to be providing any additional details since the murder took place.

It seems like the burglar didn't think anyone was home....Or they hadn't planned on the homeowner waking up...They may have fled out of the door LE found unlocked...I did a quick Google search and only found info on crimestoppers website...

LE should look into burglaries in the area before and after the murder...
