from that linked article in post #1^:

“The intentional killing of another person is wrong and as governor, I will not oversee the execution of any individual,” he said in prepared remarks.

Newsom called the death penalty “a failure” that “has discriminated against defendants who are mentally ill, black and brown, or can’t afford expensive legal representation.” He also said innocent people have been wrongly convicted and sometimes put to death.

Preach, Gov Gav, preach.

He will never feel any pressure to cooperate now. The families will never know any more justice or peace than they have found already. There are 736 other cases. Maybe he's the worst. Maybe not.

Rodney did say in his 2010 trial that the state of California would never follow through his execution..I guess he was right.

I remember watching dateline about the cruel, premeditated murder of new grandparents Tom and Jackie Hawkes. One of the 3 men responsible reported Jackie Hawks said over and over, "I don't want to die, I want to see my grandson." Tom Hawks was trying to comfort his wife by stroking her hand while they were handcuffed. The couple tearfully begged for their lives. But instead, Skylar Julius Deleon, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, and Alonso Machain tied them to an anchor and tossed them overboard from their boat.

I remember thinking, thank goodness CA has the death penalty.
So, yeah MOO...I can't wait until Newsom is no longer governor so that monsters like this are put death as ASAP.

California is the state all other states point to and say "let's not do that". No wonder people are leaving in droves.
