This e-news also contains other information and a pasted image from fb which I do not copy here on purpose but gives a lot of potential answers to questions we have..

ETA a translation of a part of it, talking about negligence and abuse.

She was adopted by her grandmother Nelda at the age of three. Amanda's biological mother, L.I., lost custody due to neglect and abuse. But after the death of her grandmother, who was diagnosed with lung cancer, she was forced to live with Leanne, her husband and their daughter Elsie, moving to Grand Junction. Since then, no one has seen or heard from her. The investigations continue.
Thank you @truthfinder2019 for sharing this. What IMO a sad horrid story. :(

RSBMFF: “But after the death of her grandmother, who was diagnosed with lung cancer, she was forced to live with Leanne, her husband and their daughter Elsie, moving to Grand Junction. Since then, no one has seen or heard from her.

Reading this and the thread….. for some reason it seems a key part of the mystery revolves around the above statement and those individuals perhaps?

And I hope that authorities bore in to seek the truth. And prosecute any crimes committed for foul play involved. Several seem to have possibly occurred? Including perhaps neglect or endangerment; murder; and abuse of a corpse?

Someone severed portions of the remains that were found;
Someone placed the remains in at least one freezer;
Someone kept them in at least one freezer for a long period of time;
Someone seems to have gotten rid of the rest of the body;
Someone appears to have forgotten the remains resided in that freezer;
Depending on the timeline the remains many have been transferred across state lines;
A question remains how many were involved and knew of the above.

Without trying to be graphic, at that age one has to wonder if ALO might have become pregnant? And if so might that have been a factor? Are there forensic means that could detect that even with the limited remains available? And could other genetics be determined?

IMO seems the dear child ALO determines some measure of justice if offenses were committed. If she had simply passed from natural causes, it seems hard to believe someone would have gone to such measures to attempt to conceal this individual’s death and final location. And to have retained those few portions of her body.

With apparent multi state possibilities can the FBI be involved? Are they already? If not, why not? MOO

This is all MOO as the source is from the original FB group.

The grandchildren mentioned in the obit M, A and M are all Leannes children and all but A were removed from her care. I have found birth records for M and the father was the second husband (Giacin). I have not found a birth record for the female M, but her name may have changed if removed at birth (not sure how it works in the USA in respect to naming new borns removed from birth parents). A would appear to be the child with Brad?

From my understanding, Neldas mother and sister were also ill at the same time. Also interesting, I found a divorce record for Nelda dated 15 March 2000. Does this tie in with the child proceedings posted upthread?

I believe that "there is a tad of truth in each lie". So if Leanne was allegedly telling people in TX that Amanda moved to another state and changed name and gender, perhaps one of her kids did?

Either way...anyone adopted by another relative had it so much better that Amanda! A ward of the state would have been better!

I've seen some really nasty hoarder homes, but this resembles a dumpster more than a living space.

Curious what exactly the "strange reactions" to inquiries about Amanda were...MOO.

And to finish a little curiosity on red hair and blue eyes, i find it intriguing as it is extremely rare so most probably one of the parents must have it as dominant gene. Very rare to have two parents both with recessive genes but my biology dates from very long ago :)
Where I live, red-haired/blue-eyed people seem to be more common than this article implies. It might be because most of us hereabouts have Celtic ancestry.

So to summarise, and apologies if I get sth wrong as trying to catch up, Amanda was born in Harris TX on 04 Mar 1989 from L.M.Owho was 21. The bio dad is unknown. The grandparents N.A.O.O and J.F.O adopted her as theirs and raised her. They married in 1965 and had only 1 bio child born in 1968, L.M.O.I.
The O family is Texas based. I suppose Amanda grew up in Texas, Kountze. It is not clear when N.A.O.O fell sick, but Amanda must have moved to CO to her bio mum because of this.
Maybe N and J moved temporarily to CO to get help.
Amanda went missing sometime in April 2005, N. died in July 2005. We do not know where, but maybe in TX not CO.
There are some traces of an Amanda Overtsreet in Kountze as far as 2007, even though the transcript records have different dob (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:6YD8-CGK3, https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QJT1-Z8PY).

I’ve seen often mistakes in transcripts for other people so there is a possibility that Amanda may have still been alive, and gone back to TX as her grandmother was dying.
And there is a possibility that while she may have run away in 2005 to go back to TX (to her grandparents in Kountze), she may have come back to CO after her grandmother’s death and be murdered by someone then.

What I do not get is how it is possible that any murderer would sell a house and not remember to move human remains from a freezer therein ??!!

It's not extremely rare, as about 2% of humans in total (6% in northwestern Europe and up to 30% in parts of Ireland and Scotland) have red hair. It's absolutely a recessive trait.

But the odds of having red hair with blue eyes is 0.17 percent. It's the rarest combination in the world, barring genetic conditions like albinism and heterochromia.

I have a bunch of natural redheads in my family. All have light brown eyes, despite brunettes from the same gene pool having blue.

My partner is also a natural redhead. Her eyes are probably most accurately called hazel, as they have blue, green, and brown.

It's a rare combination to have red hair and blue eyes together, the numbers show that.

MOO

I have a relative with red hair and dark blue eyes; the hair is a rich red color but not exactly bright. I wonder if, of those with objectively red hair and blue eyes, if the combo is more commonly seen with darker red hair instead of light/bright red hair. I've always been told this color combo is pretty rare. MOO.

All the redheads on both sides of my family (including moi) have blue eyes.
We are a mish mash of darks and lights.

Hopefully, Colorado authorities will add Amanda to NamUs' missing persons section. Given that NamUs often maintains cases even after partial remains are found, this could aid in ruling out potential matches should Amanda's complete remains be discovered and listed.

Considering Amanda's move from Texas to Colorado, it's possible Amanda's remains could be located across state lines, potentially in Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, or even Texas.

I'm optimistic justice will be served in Amanda's case. From the stories told by her friends and classmates, she seemed like a lovely, funny girl whose life ended far too soon.

Details have begun to emerge about the parents of Amanda Overstreet, the murdered Colorado teen whose severed head and hands were found in a freezer in January — more than 15 years after she was last seen alive.

Friends and family were told conflicting stories about Amanda’s mysterious disappearance, a DailyMail.com investigation has revealed.

Several Overstreet family members in Texas, where Amanda grew up, claimed that the daughter ran away from an Amarillo gas station when Leanne took her on a road trip.
In another version of the tale, it was Leanne's late husband Bradley Imer, Leanne's stepfather, who took her on the road trip.
Leanne's aunt claimed the mother admitted covering up a fatal drug overdose by Amanda, for fear that her other daughter would be taken away by Child Protective Services.

Much more in the article…

New info:
The person who claimed the freezer found a human head and forearms with hands attached, said the Mesa county sheriff’s office.

Just to add that this case continues to shock me and makes me very upset. It is heartbreaking. How can this happen

In this article, it is alleged that LE found a bullet hole in Amanda’s head. First time I read this. Has anyone found other info regarding it ?

It is just so painful having to see that people who get away with murder, do get away with murder.

Is it that they cannot pin anything on Leanne now, or that they won't? But should.

From what I’ve seen there might not be enough evidence of the specifics of the crime yet… but I would think there would be something that could be changed… such a sad story… moo

If Imer made a deal after drug charges, it could mean too many things.
