Asphyxiation can be the result of either suffocation or strangulation. I think the autopsy, or at least the cause of death, did say due to smothering. Usually the ME can tell the difference. Are autopsy reports released to the public in Greece?

If he killed the dog first, would she have been sleeping, or awake? If awake, she'd have kicked the sh*t out of him, literally, and his dna would've been under her nails. Maybe he killed her and then took his rage out on the dog?

Thinking some men, certain ones- cannot bear to deal with a crying baby especially if they are busy attending to other things..
So they stick the crying child next to a ''sleeping'' mother, hoping to keep her quiet and out of his hair.
Many 16 year old female children can be controlled with a few trinkets and lots of compliments, but a 20 year old mother, not so much...

When I first started reading I thought it was an error. Then I read the same account in other articles and realized my comments about it looked like I was making disparaging remarks about a non-suspect. Oh well. I guess it doesn't matter now.
