It's been challenging to do translations here because on the one hand I want to give you all accurate translations (including subtext, inferences, nuance, and implications), but on the other hand I've had to navigate the TOS, and be careful as to how I phrase it.

We have been so grateful for all the translations you and other posters have done and really appreciate the time and effort each one has taken.xx

You're right.
The blame can't be spread around. That only diminishes his guilt. He and he alone did this.

I appreciated your sentiments but please note that, we as a society did not murder her Mother. Her Father did and he alone did not protect her. Not me. Not you. Him

Why would they feel shame, they didn't murder anyone!
Dont you understand? THEIR son is a murderer! I bet they will blame themselves, seek answers where they made mistakes during his upbringing. What did they do wrongly????

I think I would hide under my bed for the rest of my life if my son murdered someone.

The only one who should feel the shame is the one that did the deed.

I feel like I went to sleep last night and woke up in the century before last

Of course but that's not always how it works out. Some parents do feel shame for the crimes their children commit.

When I posted the translation, I also expressed my opinion that, based on how he was talking, this might have been a bluff from LE.
You did indeed.
I noticed and never forgot that detail.

That is the voice of REASON. But EMOTIONS are completely different matter. As this case shows.

Wonder if he had some help to stage the scene for tying him up etc

Maybe his searches might show he looked up how to do it on Youtube.

@caylee17799

From that very early (in the case) media interview with crime editor Lambropoulos, your feelings and instincts regarding the full implications of Lambropoulous' usage of the word ανατροπή, "plot twist" or "overturning/refutation (of the narrative)" were 100% correct!

"I kissed a kitten, that shows I could never have been so cruel to the family dog"

I'm glad (if that's the right word) that our instincts were accurate.
Not only did his story make no sense, but his behaviour and body language didn't either.

EFHARISTO Patric! You were the BEST :) In my opinion you would make an excellent crime reporter - if you get bored with your current job that is :)

Greek Husband of Caroline Crouch Confesses to Brutal Murder

Even though that Greek source says "strangled," it's an English-language Greek source.

I think it is a mistranslation of πνίγω which can mean drown, strangle, suffocate, or choke, depending on the context. And I think the reporter is doing a lazy translation, and not checking the context here. If he checked the context, the best translation is "suffocated."

Have not had chance to catch up with todays replies yet. But I have seen the news regarding Babis being questioned by police. I wish I could say I was shocked or surprised, I think many of us probably have the same feeling about this case.
I only hope justice is eventually served for Caroline.
