I hope you're feeling better. I had a kidney infection last week and spent a lot of time sleeping. I happened to be visiting my aunt/uncle at the time. My uncle cooked everything under the sun trying to entice me to eat. I come home so inspired from his cooking and usually with new recipes too! When I popped into Publix on my way home, I had to go down the spice aisle to see if they sold the stuff he was using. LOL!

I bit the bullet and bought a small crockpot. I want to do pulled pork but Publix was out of the "Slow Cookers" pulled pork seasoning packet. It is my absolute favorite. I'm not running all over creation to find it either. I don't want to do a $2 Amazon order. So, I did chicken breasts in broth with celery, onion, garlic, salt and peppercorns instead yesterday.

Thank you :) I started guzzling pure cranberry juice and hope it wards off an impending UTI. I don't want to have to see my PCP until my annual physical on November 3.

My new Ina Garten cookbook, Modern Comfort Food, arrived yesterday. I also got the November issue of Food Network Magazine. After I've done a few "quiet" chores (DH is working from home today), I will sit down, put my feet up, and peruse my new cookbook and magazine. Hopefully, I will get some fresh ideas for fall and winter meals since we'll be spending a lot of time at home in the coming months.

Yep. That is the truth. I hardly go anywhere.

Cottonelle recalls some wipes over possible bacterial contamination

The bacteria detected in the affected packages of Cottonelle wipes is pluralibacter gergoviae, a pathogen naturally occurring in the environment and human body, the company said.

The manufacturer of Cottonelle Flushable and GentlePlus Wipes has recalled some of its products due to a potential bacterial contamination.

The recall only covers a limited amount of wipes that were manufactured between Feb. 7 and Sept. 14, manufacturer Kimberly-Clark said, adding that all other Cottonelle products were not affected and are safe to use...

I did 2 “produce only” pick ups this week because we needed fresh stuff. Last weeks produce was more supplemental things like garlic, salad, etc. Anyway, it was really nice fresh items. On Wed we were given fruit and veggies. Today, in addition to veggies, we were given another USDA box just like last week! Holy Smokes it’s lot of food. These pics are from today, not including the box on Wed. Planning my food prep tonight.

Have you ever tried the cranberry extract capsules? Or the D-Mannose capsules ? I use the Solaray brand called Cranactin and their D-Mannose. They always work really well for me, and you can take more than the recommended amount if necessary, with plenty of water. I get them at my local health food store. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

Thanks for the tip. I always have a bottle of pure cranberry juice in the house "just in case". Sometimes I "feel" like I'm getting a UTI, but it doesn't actually turn into a full-blown infection. When I have my annual physical next month, I will ask my doctor to check for "bugs" :D

I had so many appointments this week, I never made it to my produce pick up. I did get to the church for my grocery pick up today tho. Lots of staples to fill the pantry. Not much fresh produce but canned veggies are fine. I had to laugh at the Twinkies cereal. I didn’t even know that existed!! And toilet paper is always a plus!

DH and I went to Nino's early this afternoon. They rearranged the produce department - hate when that happens! I usually know exactly where to find my favorite produce selections but had to look around for a few items. Our pantry is pretty full right now, so we didn't get too many staples - soup stock, quinoa, canned beans and hominy.

We had an Indian summer day and are on the brink of severe storms. It is in the mid-70s and very humid. Temperatures will fall into the 30s/40s tomorrow. I think we've seen the last of warm weather for 2020 in Michigan. It was stifling in Nino's, and I thought I was going to pass out. We divided up the list so we could get out of there asap. Took my mask off the minute I was out of the store. DH will make his monthly trip to Costco tomorrow.

My pantry and freezer is so stocked, I should only have to go to store for fresh fruits and veggies for at least 2 months. Thankfully working in the meat/poultry industry I never have to worry about that being an issue. It has been so muggy and misty here in NJ for the last few days I turned the AC back on..

I noticed more shelves empty today at the store. Hoarding again? Or folks out with Covid?

The paper goods aisle, particularly the toilet paper and paper towels, were still low when I was at Publix a few days ago. I was thankful the church gave me 6 rolls of TP last week and 2 rolls this week!!
