I have been known to eat a handful of Nestle Toll House Morsels when a craving hits.
Great scattered over freshly popped popcorn, too.
I have to hide the baking morsels from my husband!!

I received my first ever food delivery from Shop Rite this morning. It was a blessing, and I received everything that I ordered, except for maybe 2-3 items. Maybe you could give that a try if you no longer want to go out to shop.i hear ya... i just hope you scrubbed ferociously when you got to your car or home. I felt it recently in a store too...no gooey comments...but the young kid disinfecting the floors in my Winn Dixie just felt soooooooo close. All I think anymore is "carrier carrier" I really do gargle with mouthwash and sanitize my hands before and after any entry into a store! Probably have to give up the visits all together with whats coming in this next week.
I just finalized a ShopRite order for tomorrow. I was able to obtain that a week ago. Fingers cross I get the 3 packs of yeast and some toilet paper!
After the Peapod delivery yesterday, I went online and secured the last delivery available on April 10th.
Online grocery delivery and tweaking the cart seems to be my new job these days.
DH and I were discussing our ongoing grocery list and he asked about "candle" that I added a couple of days ago. It's still quite chilly here in metro Detroit and too early to open windows for some fresh air. I feel like the house is getting "stale" and could use a soft scent to freshen it up a little. Can't do potpourri or anything strong due to allergies, but I think a candle with a light scent like vanilla, lemon, or lavender might be nice. Salvaggio's has a seasonal floral and gift department with a nice selection of candles. DH plans to do a shopping power-hour on Tuesday morning.
Many people in the world use NO TP. They use a bowl of water and their left hand. Eat and shake with the right hand. Just scoop the water from the bowl to clean oneself. Then, they wash their hands with a separate bowl of water for hand washing. Google it.
They must have laughed their socks off at the North Americans hoarding TP.
I have read about the 'cloth' but I have read that even in hot water, you cannot keep it hygienic enough to prevent infections, long term. Perhaps babies have less dangerous bacterias in their faeces.
I think you misunderstood me. They do NOT touch the poop, they use their left hand to splash the water onto their bottoms until they are satisfied that its clean.
Because they use the left hand for their bottom cleansing, they eat with their right hand etc.
They ALWAYS wash their hands after cleaning their bottoms but with another water source, sometimes a bowl, sometimes a tap of running water.
No one was suggesting that one should get faecal bacterium all over their hands. No, never.
Many countries do not use toilet paper, they see it as dirty, simply rubbing the faeces around without bathing each time.
Different ways, that's all.
What are you doing about food cravings? Salty or sweet, we all get them occasionally. Last night, DH was longing for something sweet but was not going to run out to Kroger or Meijer for a day-old pie or a pint of ice cream. I don't usually crave sweets; crunchy, salty snacks are my vice. We always have peanut butter that is good with an apple and satisfies my urge for crunchy and salty. What to do about DH's sweet tooth?
We have only six eggs at the moment because, even at 7:00 on Thursday morning during senior shopping hours at Meijer, it was obvious that eggs were a hot commodity. We don't eat a lot of eggs and were not completely out, so DH did not get them. I have the ingredients to make a pound cake but didn't want to use up our eggs. I searched yesterday and found a pound cake that uses only three eggs and will bake it today. It's not pie but should satisfy DH's sweet tooth. We have fresh and frozen berries, and there's even a tub of Cool Whip in the freezer if he wants to get fancy![]()
I don't see how it can get clean without wiping. The toilet paper that we flush usually has 'debris' on it so where does that go if we only splash water with a hand? the answer is nowhere - it stays there - unless they are actually wiping with their hand and that is the reason they don't use that hand for eating
Got chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter and vanilla? Make fudge! What are you doing about food cravings? Salty or sweet, we all get them occasionally. ummmm- i think I'll stick with toilet paper
The hand wiping thing sounds not only gross but
non hygienic
NOOOOO !....mooThis seems like a good time to eat up some of the canned food in my kitchen cabinets. Let's see, there's a can of Boston Baked Beans way in the back. Sounds yummy.
But wait, the can has a BB date of November 2011. The outside of the can looks OK. Should I bin it, or not? I guess I should at least open the can and inspect the contents before I throw it away.
And then there’s massive price gouging on Amazon. Just try to look for diced tomatoes.I can't find anything I need on Amazon or on the grocery store websites. Everything is 'temporarily out of stock'.
