Group Plans Memorial Walkway For Caylee

When the Anthonys showed up at the BKH balloon release on Caylee's birthday, Cindy was heard remarking something to the effect that their attorney would contact the group but no one knows why. Could have been something to do with Caylee's trademarked name? Or, perhaps their proposed involvement or support. But no one knows. There is a mention on the BKH site that the group has nothing to do with the "case principals".

BBM: Thank You ... just checked it out.

Oh yes ... now I remember Cindy stating that their attorney would contact the group ... And that's what makes me wonder ... hmmm...

Having served locally on the Board of Directors for a HUGEnational non-profit organization, allow me to share a sentiment that was very prevalent on our board and others.

As a non-profit organization, you are so grateful for every single penny received that can help your organization reach the goals outlined in your objectives. The objectives are carefully proposed, evaluated, developed and implemented after many many many many many hours of effort and consideration. Money is directed where it can best meet goals by making a significant impact. Sometimes, part of "charity" is understanding that more can be done in one area with current funds, leaving other goals for the next time.

These days, a new "charity" is born every minute. Sadly, many many many of these charities do not employ the same policies and procedures as others.

With money so hard to come by, extraneous and rogue charities dilute the market with their funds and giving programs. Every charity is entitled to recover operating expenses. It is part of the budget that is carefully submitted and approved every year. But...... when a new charity takes in $$ and the majority of the funds go to operating expenses.....the "cause" loses out on valuable resources that are so needed.

Just like WS members are encouraged to find a "similar thread" instead of just starting a brand new one.......folks who wish to donate to a cause should research established organizations that benefit and support causes that are the same as, or similar to those that have been established and proven.

These days....many people start a charity all the while intending to benefit themselves before one thought is ever given to the "cause". Choose carefully.

I found this today about the softball tournament. Seems like they wanted 48 teams, but as of Sept 12th (last day to register they only have 25). 25 teams times $200 (cost of each team to register) is $5,000. How much did it cost them to rent the park for this tournament? There are also side money makers at the tournament. I wonder if they will make any money from the tournament with it being only half full. I sure hope that is the case. http://floridasoftball.com/forum/sh...ournament-Caylee-Marie-Memorial-Project/page2

Seems to me this page has been changed, pics added. Or I could just be tired, lol. Anyway, there's a pic of FL volunteers:

http://www.bringkidshome.org/camemorial.htm

Btw, the original video and press release are back up. Couldn't access them yesterday.

No, you are not seeing things. That page with pics was modified on Friday, September 16, 2011 12:41:27 PM.
So now we have a grand total of 5 volunteers plus Delvalle. He is in the pictures with the other 5. I wonder if the Dr in front of Delvalle's name stands for Director and not Doctor.

They are busy working on other changes. Going into music videos now and added a line for the softball thingy on main page , not linked yet.

http://www.bringkidshome.org/donation.htm

Did you notice they also stopped selling bricks to general public?. They are all reserved, however , you can be put on a waiting list.

..thanks for keeping on top of this..

..i believe their "when were we founded?" has changed--( they now remain "in transition" so they can change it up whenever they feel like it.)

When Was Bring Kids Home Founded?
Bring Kids Home was started in 2006 to development ( ummm-- to development??? ) numerous software applications for children and families, around 2009 we transformed into a non-profit to provide services for children and families. We remain in transition to establish grassroots volunteers in every state for community outreach projects.

..and-----bonus!---the senior volunteers no longer need that FBI background check.....just a "regular" background check!

What Type of People are Volunteers?
Due to the nature of our work, all senior volunteers pass a background check to insure they are approved to work with youth in their state, equal to the check done by school districts. The majority of our volunteers are coaches, teachers, parents, counselors, and students seeking community service.

Looks like they read your post and took the "transition" out.
This is how it reads now. Modified Friday, September 16, 2011 3:56:57 AM

..i guess they noticed that saying "around 2009" was a little too vague too---they've changed that to "in 2009".

..still waiting on them to fix that "to development" to "to develop"....

Caylee Anthony memorial controversy

The victim's advocacy group, Bring Kids Home, is now operating the memorial on Suburban Drive and says 300 to 400 people visit every weekend. It's not an easy job.

People who pass this spot everyday aren't so sure about making the memorial permanent.
"I would have to think about that," said one visitor.

"This is going to stay. It's a unique case. People will always affilate Orlando with the case," said Delvalle.

The group behind this proposed permament memorial says if the neighbors here don't want it they are prepared take it out of Orlando to somewhere in the state of Florida. If Florida doesn't want it they are prepared to take it to any city in the country ready to accept it.

:floorlaugh:300 to 400 people each weekend? Suspect a gross over statement.
Even on the unveiling event of the design of walkway on Caylee's 6th birthday there were less than 100 folks IIRC.
Coincidence that with the recent hint of another location, they stopped selling bricks and only accept "non refundable " general donations now?
Something smells off.

BBM: Don't you just love this statement. What it really is saying is: "Look people we are going to do this and cram this down your throat whether you like it or not."

Delvalle's statement: "People will always affilate........" Well, of course they will if there is a constant reminder of what happened to this child. She was never lost and now CA admits that. KC knew where she was all the time. So you plan on putting names of missing children on a wall. Better be a really, really big wall because there are a lot of missing children. They never mention who plans on maintaining this park and who will get stuck paying for it. IMO it will be the taxpayers. Apparently the neighbors are not too happy. Hope they will all speak up. Caylee deserves to be more than a commodity. jmo

That's okay. I'll still keep researching them until I'm sure they're legit. :detective:

That seems like a gross overstatement. I was just there last Thursday morning for over an hour and not one single other person came to visit or observe that spot on Suburban Drive. I was there alone the entire time.

Plus - "people who pass this spot everyday"? Except at drop-off and dismissal times for the elementary school that is at the dead-end on Suburban Drive, I can't imagine there would be much traffic, vehicle or foot, going past that area. I was there from about 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on a Thursday morning and a grand total of two cars passed me as I stood on Suburban Drive at the edge of that swamp. No pedestrians at all.

LLC - Limited Liability Company

"A Limited Liability Company (LLC) is a business structure allowed by state statute. LLCs are popular because, similar to a corporation, owners have limited personal liability for the debts and actions of the LLC. Other features of LLCs are more like a partnership, providing management flexibility and the benefit of pass-through taxation."

I had to look up the pass-through taxation to see what that means.
Not being a lawyer, CPA, or chemist, my interpretation is it means any profits or losses will be divided evenly to the owners who are supposed to report it on their own tax return. The link below explains it better but this part was of special interest to me. I wonder if the A's know it.

You should be aware that the partnership itself must still file a tax return, even though it has no tax burden. This return has to indicate the partnership’s finances for the past year, showing how much the partnership made or lost. It also must show how the profits and losses are attributed to each partner, and to the extent any profits were paid, the return must indicate what profits were paid to which partners, and when they were paid.

I would like to know if you legally own the property for the memorial? If not, why are you collecting money? Why won't anyone answer this question?

I still do not understand how $200,000 will effectively reduce the amount of missing and abused children by builidng a memorial to Caylee. It just makes no sense......unless they plan to charge people for walking through the site. The memorial is not in line with their goals as they site them on their website. No one in Ohio is going to say to themselves I'm not going to beat my child tonight because there is a memorial site to Caylee in Orlando. jmo

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: I just love when reading through these threads and I come upon one of the funny sayings and quips and things that went on in this trial. Lots of them have to do with JB (his misspellings were priceless!). I don't think I'll ever hear the word "chemist" or meet a chemist without smiling and thinking of JB going on and on and on and ON about Dr. Vass not being a "chemist", it was comical. :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

It is a relief sometimes to bring some humor to this tragedy that just keeps on giving.

This is all I've found this morning so far (I'll keep looking) about the Softball Tournament. At the end of the video it says there is one Oct 17-18th. Not sure if that's a typo or they're having another one. The reporter in the vid states BKH hopes to raise $10,000.

Thanks. I wonder how much they made this past weekend, hopefully not alot as I think this memorial walkway is SOO inappropriate.....

It appears to me the oct.17-18 would be a typo as oct.17-18 is a Monday-Tuesday.......
