Group Plans Memorial Walkway For Caylee

Thanks. I wonder how much they made this past weekend, hopefully not alot as I think this memorial walkway is SOO inappropriate.....

It appears to me the oct.17-18 would be a typo as oct.17-18 is a Monday-Tuesday.......

I thought it must be a mistake too.

No word on the amt of $$$ raised. I'll keep checking.

Does not look like they made a lot of bucks if any.
Apparently they are looking for donations to make good on the first prize award.

IT IS ALL OVER IT WAS A GREAT TOURNAMENT AND I HOPE EVERYONE HAD FUN. BUT WE ARE IN NEED OF SOMEONE TO HELP FIND A COMPANY TO MAYBE DONATE TEAM FULL OR SUB DYE JERSEYS TO THE FIRST PLACE WINNERS BECAUSE WITH ALL THE COST THAT WENT OUT FOR THE FIELDS, AND UMPIRES, SHIRTS WE ARE STILL WAITING TO SEE WHAT WE OWE FOR THE FIELDS AND MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE WINNERS THERE PRIZES UNTIL I CAN GET THE MONEY TOGETHER AND THAT WILL COME OUT OF MY POCKET. SO PLEASE IF YOU KNOW OF A COMPANY IT DOESN'T HURT TO ASK THEM FOR HELP. TY

Maybe I have a jaded opinion, but I wonder if they took some money out of the pot for their own salaries first?

It's things like this that get "charities" shut down. I use the term charity very loosely.

I checked further down on their FB page, check the entry and the comments for Sat. 8:49 pm, something "bad" happened for Sats. tournament....wonder if someone "joined" as a team and then protested in some way, or didn't show, or came and quit?? I am just guessing here. interesting, to say the least. IMO, MOO, etc.

Yep, does not look there was much donating of time by many of the folks involved. Like umpires etc. They are all waiting with their hands out for pay of services rendered. Not that I fault them for that.
But it just sounds more like a commercial venture gone in the red rather than a charity event.

Looks like they are trying to sell music now???

And.....

notice the majority of their efforts are web based!

And selling candles??

Folks...to me....it looks like the "charity" is nothing more than an internet front for marketing other online sales. http://www.arnettandassociates.com/SpeakerDetails/1473/David-Sears.html

Excuse me while I puke.

Oh...and the 100 aker wood reference...IMO is nothing more than a way to track back to their speaker website. http://www.arnettandassociates.com/SpeakerDetails/10493/Juana-Hart-Akers.html

Wow, wonder what happened? I agree with your theory, NavySubMom. Guess we won't know unless someone goes into details.

I note the comment:
All I can say is I too failed this little girl

Double thanks for the post! :)

You have to wonder if this charity ever did it's homework to see if this is actually what people want in this area. They are the one's that have to live with it, day in, day out. While the majority of us here feel we would not want this type of memorial in our neighborhood I would think the majority neighbors around Suburban may feel the same way. And now that CA is saying in essence "It's not such a big deal that Caylee's remains were found here..." maybe it really isn't a good idea to go forward with this project.

Now we are led to believe Caylee just drowned and KC panicked and threw her body there. No biggie. So why the memorial for an accidential drowning. Now it makes less sense than ever. Caylee was never missing, she was just the child of a young woman who felt once Caylee was dead she was a useless shell and discarded her. According to CA, it's that simple. Nothing to get excited about accidents happen everyday.

And the Akers part....they should be ashamed of themselves for what they think is being clever.

Good catch, SOTS.

You guys are doing excellent work on this thread. Has anyone found any press coverage of the softball event from Saturday? I wonder what happened, too. Maybe they learned you can't shove your ::marketing ploy:: charity event down people's throats.

I haven't found anything yet. Hopefully someone with better sleuthing skills than me will find something. :)

"All I can say is I too failed this little girl"

Why are people beating themselves up over this charity? I guess I'm having a hard time trying to figure why people want a memorial on this site. I would think the last thing Caylee would want people to remember is how she was found at that site. This is a charity preying on people's guilt that not enough was done to save Caylee. This is just my opinion but it feels as if this charity is in some way again victumizing the public. jmo

Apparently the remains site was vandalized, supposedly by someone angry "with the jury verdict."

http://www.facebook.com/BringKidsHome

It's a shame that there was vandalism. To tell the truth, before I read the comments on the person who did this, I had another suspect in mind. :floorlaugh: Shame on me.

Scroll down and there's a few not too complimentary comments about this org and some defenses by BKH. I noted that when put on the spot, whoever writes for BKH Facebook claimed in defense that he/she is only a volunteer.

If only they were upfront about the org, it's finances and the memorial, there might not be as much controversy/speculation.

:floorlaugh: Yep, I remember another gang that was observed removing the cross.
And I read the comments last nite. Brick buyers are wondering why they have not been contacted yet by BKH.
Also , did you notice that FB for umpire Anthony Abramson of tournament fame is private/closed now?
http://www.facebook.com/groups/124100857686009/

It is now a closed group

Golly, I wonder why he closed it? Very strange!

And so far I've found nothing about how much money the softball tournament to benefit BKH and the memorial earned or donated to BKH. No media coverage, press releases, or even FB entries other than the few we've previously found and posted above.

It's been very quiet. I note that Twitter is reporting no available tweets for BKH or memorial4caylee. Sigh.
No matter...eventually there has to be some sort of news. I can wait. :)

I think they closed it because they read here, or they have people reading here, and they don't want us privy to their epic fail fundraisers. and up above ~ #882 in this thread we were pasting their FB posts about how something bad happened at the tournament on Saturday. and umpires still need paid, t-shirts need paid for, prizes need paid for, etc.

Tournament doesn't sound like a real success to me if they are looking to pay for prizes and umpires, etc. AFTER the tournament. How much $$ could they have made, IMO, like $0 or negative $0 ?? boo hoo hoo.

IMO, MOO, etc.

Over at 100 Acre Woods FB there's a new charity in town.
http://www.facebook.com/bringthem
It's called PPP - Recovery ("Ponies, Patriots, and People")
Strangest part is their emblem is a Badge!

This is for Bring THEM Home which I think is different from BKH. Not run by the same people. BTH I believe has been more active. Just ironic that BKH has a similiar name. jmo

Yes, such a close name! But I went to their website and BTH looks legit--at least they're upfront about who they are and provide names and e-mails addys to contact them.

BKH should get a clue about things like that, which are so important to people who are thinking to donate or volunteer with an org. Who wants to do that with an org that's so secretive about who they are and what they're doing with their donations?

They should get a clue. Secrecy only makes us more curious and doubtful that it's a legit org. JMO
