Most recent post on Finding Catherine Shaw says that Elena has the Hang. Odd, considering the hotel said Cat left with it.

Yes, the description from the Mayachick CCTV made it quite clear that she was carrying the Hang in a black case.

Was there another Hang or did she have luggage with her?

And she was barefoot and there was a grey & white puppy?

Not having the Hang gives a different kind of perspective of her disappearance

Maybe she just had the case

Cat and Elena had only spent one night at the ecohotel.

I wonder where they were before and what the plans were for moving on. It looks like the kind of place you'd spend several nights enjoying the lovely small town. The Antigua-Atitlan area is very heavily touristed and many people end up hanging around there for quite some time.

I wonder if they were followed by someone from their prior stays.

This is Guatemala's "amber alert for missing women" posting.

Concerning new updates: She actually "left" Mayachik two times early the morning of Tuesday, March 5

1. First at 1:37 and returned at 3:19 ( I wonder if she brought the puppy back in the Hang case)

2. Second at 5:23 with the puppy.

The puppy was found at that high overlook (Rostro Maya) by some tourists, shivering and crying on Friday, May 8 about 6 am. That would suggest it had been there for about 72 hours.

It is sounding like this could be a mental health issue. Very strange how it’s now being reported she didn’t have the hang with her.

I think it might be an altered consciousness issue, like a drug or hallucinogen-related series of events

One of the updates on the "Finding Catherine Shaw" FB page yesterday mentions Cat having been seen about 10 days earlier with a "local" or "Mexican" man discussing her desire to take a boat to a nearby island: "By one San Pedro local account, Catherine was seen at Elevate about 10 days ago with a shorter possibly local or Mexican guy, and that she told the SP local they were going to take one of those small wooden boats across the lake to San Marcos. The local told her that might not be possible & said she acted kind of strange. He said later (the next day I think) he saw the same guy leaving San Marcos alone."

Concerning...

Finding Catherine Shaw

Oh my! This does not look good for Catherine. I am glad the puppy was found and hopefully the tourists took it with them. Not sure how small the puppy was but if she were carrying it, it doesn't sound like she just tripped and fell or the puppy would likely have ended up together.

Leaving twice? Carrying the same.. drum case? What is the “hang” that you guys refer to?

I think there's a photo of the puppy on the FB Find Catherine Shaw site and it's quite small

It's a musical instrument somewhat like a lap version of a Caribbean steel drum. Played with the hands (Hang is German for hand). Quite interesting. I'd never heard of it before

Evidently they are intentionally very difficult to get (limited manufacturing) and not cheap. The cheapest one they sell is about $700 USD

I don't do FB but I tried looking through what I could see and I didn't find the photo of the puppy. Could you post it?

I wonder if she was taking it to sell it to someone at 1:37 in the am?

Hoping no one hurt her to steal it.

There is a post on the FB Finding Catherine Shaw about her getting rid of a lot of her stuff in the couple of weeks prior to her disappearance and wanting to be light and free, and others have said she wasn't depressed or suicidal

This was posted by her friend "e" who shared the room with her:

I saw that posted from her friend e. I do thinks it’s odd how she says the last time she saw her she seemed sad and without much power.
