Taylor Herlong:

Defense is asking for directed verdict. Says evidence does not add up to obstruction of justice.

Defense currently attacking the police work of HCPD. Asking why Officer KC Canterbury was not a witness - crucial to this case.

Defense says it's a glaring omission that Officer KC Canterbury was not chosen as a witness.

A directed verdict is an order from the presiding judge to the jury to return a particular verdict.

Typically, the judge orders a directed verdit after finding that no jury could reach a decision to the contrary.

Judge says he has an issue with what exactly would have impeded the investigation.

Liz Cooper:

Judge says the issue here with this case is trying to figure out exact clarifications on what 'impeding' means.

Judge: "what does impede mean?" He says in law it's not clearly defined.

Judge is questioning the definition of "impede" in reference to an investigation.

Judge: "I know what I feel, but that's not pertinent. I think it's a jury issue of what is 'impede'."

Judge: "There has to be an intent to mislead, and that is what the charge is going to say."

Judge has implied this is a "jury" issue

I think this judge should have stuck to being an attorney - he sure does talk a lot.

Liz Cooper:
Judge: He couldn't find common law where a citizen has withheld info - he says it's usually officers or officials.

Kaitlin Stansell @kaitlinstansell
Judge has denied the defense's motion for a directed verdict.

So - the Prosecutors rested - and someone mentioned that the defense has no witnesses - so now it goes to closing arguments? and then the jurors get the case?

TIA!

Anyone else thing the Moorers have been trying to conceive since they got out of jail, just to prove their narrative that they were wanting to get pregnant and that she was pregnant? All lies of course.
