Now the jurors get to listen to the judge talk endlessly.

If instructions are just 20 minutes or so, then it goes to the jury- that will be around ~4:20 EST. Maybe they'll be back with a verdict today, given the closing statements, lol.

Oops, I forgot this judge thinks everyone loves what he has to say...

I hope so!

:offtobed: I will catch up in the morning!

Who is the brunette sitting right behind Sidney?

TIA
Maybe a member of the defense team? Like a paralegal? I know that whole row is marked as "reserved" all the way across.

I think I remember her being in the same spot during the kidnapping trial. I've assumed she was a paralegal or assistant of some sort.

Can anyone tell me if TM is still on FB?

Scuttlebutt is that she deactivated her account recently.

This Judge: I love his accent but he's so annoying with that he's saying. Maybe he could read an interesting book, that would make him more tolerable.

IMO

Good, she shouldn't even be allowed to have one

You have the right to remain silent...

BUT you don't have the obligation to do so.

Wish NL had told the jury that.

I think TM is now only on Facebook under her fake page (Unofficial: Monopoly).

Speaking of Facebook, yesterday I was reading an unofficial transcript of the interview with SM. Before he flubbed up the payphone question, he told them he had stopped to get gas. When he said it, he immediately pointed out that he paid cash and also said it was late, so the inside was closed so he paid at the pump. The officer said "you paid cash at the pump without going inside? I didn't even know that existed." (I am paraphrasing)

My question....do pumps like this exist in the South? You can pay CASH at the pump? Even gas stations around here won't let you pay credit card at the pump if the place is closed....

Yes. Silently, to himself. Much more tolerable! ;)

Boy he sure likes to talk :waiting:

I'm glad he's clarifying the definition of circumstantial evidence and pointing out it carries the same weight as direct evidence. Everybody (myself included) watches all these crime shows where they downplay circumstantial evidence.

I've never seen one.

I've always suspected that to be her, but I checked during the trial yesterday, and someone was posting under that account while TM was in the courtroom. If it's her, she has help.

BBM: Not that I know of. I saw that too, and was pretty surprised. He said he fed cash into the machine. I know I do that at the ATM to make a deposit, and I guess that technology could be applied to a gas pump, but I've never seen it. If we know which gas station it is, I'm happy to drive by and check it out.

I've noticed that while the Judge is speaking there is a noticeable lack of coughing and throat clearing.... Hmm!

Locally this case is very much 50-50 if you ask people if SM had any involvement. Many think TM and her family were involved but not so much SM. Also, Heather's supporters are much more vocal but in normal conversation many don't think they have evidence and should stop with the extra criminal charges and work on the kidnapping / murder case and let the hype die down until they can make their case.

Also, TM is considered unlikeable but people tend to like SM. Just adding some local flavor while the Judge talks on.

I noticed the same about the page yesterday. She was either furiously updating during breaks or she has help. I just can't imagine anyone else being AS obsessed and as knowledgeable about the details of the case except her.. No posts today. Yet.

For some reason I'm thinking the gas station was very close in proximity to the one he made the payphone call from but I can't remember why I"m thinking that.....like catty corner or something?

WHY does he (the judge) always shake hands with SM like that?!?
