so they can't use a calendar? wth

She had a big blank calendar and wanted to fill it in with important dates from this witness - when he visited where, etc. To have a visual. Looks like the judge did not allow it.

ETA: So now they are having to just write the dates on a flip chart.

PC is reiterating the intensity with which they were trying to locate this missing young lady.

PC is saying (not for the first time) that he is only saying the date the cameras were installed based on the date on the camera. He doesn't know if that date is accurate. What I love about this, is the Defense LOVES to question the dates and times of everything digital. Cell phone pings = UTC vs EST vs PST. Cameras on Hwy 814 = Daylight Saving Time vs. Standard Time. Cell Tower Pings, blah, blah, blah.

Just a general question (after what happened with the kids in TM s trial). Is there anything to stop A.C. or any other possible witnesses from watching replays of today's testimony when they leave court?

No further questions from the State or the Defense. The witness is excused.

Now I know why this wasn't used in prior trials.....because the cleaning happened 5 days after she went missing.

I was thinking that too and I doubt it.

I believe the defense objected on the grounds that it hadn't been verified that the calendar was correct. If I was a juror I'd be rolling my eyes at this.

It doesn't look like any family will make it to the stand today, sadly.

Thanks to everyone for the posts. I had to leave my house at their lunch break and this is the only way I can follow along.

Chris Helms is doing the questioning.

JS is a certified forensic video examiner and analyst.
He has testified approximately 20 times.
He has been qualified as an expert witness (forensic audio analysis, forensic video analysis, DVR analysis)
Has been qualified in this courtroom as an expert.
With no objection from the Defense, Judge Dennis qualifies him as an expert.

Yes. They burned all the rags they cleaned the truck with.

JS is testifying as to what he found on the DVR, with the actual DVR sitting in front of him.

  • #299
JS states there were 2 different occurrences when the date/time were altered on this system.
