I sure remember that Rolling Stone cover, Filly!

Ya shouldn't admit to that, Taximom. LOL How did our hair survive? Off topic, but did you have them thigh high leather boots? I so did and thought I was the chit. Glam Rock and all ya know?

LOL, Filly. We had a great leather shoe and boot shop downtown. I spent half my paycheck there sometimes. No thigh-highs for me, but really, really, high heels! Can't say I wasn't tempted...

I can see this news story being turned into an SNL skit or part of those "fake" horror movies that I can't remember the name of right now....

Oh no you don't. It was the era of wearing them stick on boob things so you could go sans bra. Man, them things hurt pulling them off even if you were lit. I got some I'll dig out though so you can crack up. Denimn dresses were the style and topped off with bolero jackets from Trash Vaudville. A crime I tell ya. For the sake of laughing though I'll post them. What an awful fashion era. The hair though was the best.

Was it you guys who wore the knickers with long socks?

I was one who wore the leg warmers on the outside of my SKINNNNN tight jeans. I can't find a leg warmer picture, but I'll ask Mom. :-)

Of course, I had the Screaming Chicken on my Trans Am, the air shocks that made it ride like a rock but put the butt end of it in the sky and the wide tires that made me look "cool" and the cherry bombs that made it "sound" cool. No one uses cherry bombs anymore because it's all about the loud music. I preferred the loud cars, but then, I'm old now. ;-)

I loved GNR as well...he might be gross now, but during the time that they filmed the video "Sweet child of mine" Axl was hotter than anything out there. *drool*
I used to watch that video EVERY DAY before going to work....it got me all riled up.....*shiver* woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sebastian Bach was hotter:blowkiss:

This story is so funny! I used to love GnR. My favorite song was Rocket Queen. Remember when Axle dated the model Stephanie Seymour and made those crazy music videos with her? I guess the rock star and the model is a tradition that never changes. Poor Axle looks so freaky now with all of his plastic surgery. He seemed like he just couldn't handle the fame, which I guess is pretty common.

And he still looks good. Did you see him on Gilmore Girls?

I did. But to be perfectly honest with you, all I could think about was taking him to my stylist for a hot oil treatment for his overprocessed hair! :D

hey o/t here but is your stylists (or any) hot oil treatments better than those such a VO5?
I used to have such silky smooth hair but then I got a perm that was left in too long and my hair got FRIED!!!!! It looks and feels so terrible now, and no matter WHAT kind of smoothing/moisturing shampoo/conditioner I try nothing helps.
I have tried pantene, dove, garnier nutrisse, vo5 hot oil, John freida, if it's out there I've tried it.

Have you gone in for a deep conditioning treatment? They slather your hair with a conditioner and plant you under the hair dryer for a bit. That works well for my color-treated hair.

A product that works REALLY well for me is Kerastase mask. But I am warning you that it is really expensive $40-$50 for a tub. IMO it is worth every penny. Once a week or every other week I will wash my hair, rinse, put Keratase all over my hair, and wrap my hair up in a plastic bag. I then do my chores and try to keep it on my hair for as long as possible before I rinse. The difference in my hair has been amazing. A tub will usually last me at least 2 months, usually more.

Never tried a stylist deep-conditioning.
Where would I buy the Kerastase? $ is no prob. as long as it works...I am getting ready to pull a Britney and shave it so it will grow back smooth.

This is funny. A thread about this teacher and a karaaoke custodian and we're talking fashion and hair treatments. My brother used to call me "Poodle Head". Just got the new "TomKat" hair style, but I look like the Little Dutch boy on a can of paint.

In my defense I did say (IMO) at least I think, about the hairstyles....
and just in case I can't remember (sorry , drunk) I know at least at one time axl had smooth hair.....
I would have killed to have his straight/smooth hair from the "sweet child o'mine" era....

 I have to say, I am still giggling over this story, although I feel a bit guilty. I am sure the lady feels a bit embarassed and the custodian will have a story to tell his grandkids !!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who things it's a little funny and who feels a tiny bit guilty about it. :D

I'm sure the teacher didn't think it was funny but I couldn't help by laugh.

ROXBURY, Conn. — Karaoke can be scary, but threatening?
A school custodian's impromptu after-hours karaoke performance prompted a police response when a teacher thought she was being threatened over the loudspeaker.
State police say the teacher at Booth Free School barricaded herself inside a classroom Wednesday when she mistook someone singing a Guns N' Roses song over the public address system for a threat.
She was working after hours and thought no one else was in the building. Then she heard someone say over the loudspeaker that she was going to die.
Six troopers and three police dogs showed up and found three teenagers, one of them a custodian at the school, who had been playing with the public address system.
Police say one of them sang "Welcome to the Jungle" into the microphone. The song contains the lyrics "You're in the jungle baby; you're gonna die."

How funny. I feel bad for the lady being so afraid, but this reminds me of guys I once worked with who sang and carried on over the loud speaker. Hope the teens didn't get into trouble.
