Thanks for the links, DK - the last one was cute. :D

No problem. I tossed the last one in just for fun, lol.

I heard the rest of AC/DC's new album and decided to get it, most of it is very good! It peters out a bit towards the end, though, IMO.

Is it true that Axl is now the only original member left? It just won't be the same w/out Slash. And buckethead sort of scared me. ;)

Bucket head has some weird thing about chickens and had a chicken coop complete with straw and guano installed in the recording studio.
The boy aint right.

Yeah, only Axl is left, the rest of the old band are now in Velvet Revolver.

I loved Buckethead!!!! (He's just playing a character, people say he isn't really that weird, but who knows, lol.) And he is an awesome guitar player and performer, G 'n' R would have been better had he stayed.

My fav guitarist is dead. He could really play though I wish he was still with us but his music still lives on.

R.I.P. 'Dimebag" Darrell Abbott

Pantera, right?

I had no idea that a thread about GnR would have this many posts...it's something I"m ashamed to admit in non-familiar company.:crazy: HA HA!
I don't think I"ll be buying the album...especially since Axl (prima dona) is the only one left...and it's his fault the others left...:bang:

Did you ever hear Nickelback's song about Dimebag's murder? The song is called "Side of a Bullet" - it's really good.

My sons are musicians in a Metal band and Dimebag is something of an Icon to them.
Im a guitarist too but Im afraid im closer to Joe Strummer then a Metal shredder!

Most of the guitar riffs in that song are Dimebag, himself.

Axl has been spewing this tale of "Soon to be released" album for years and years. His guitarist, Robin Finck is still touring with Nine Inch Nails so I doubt they will even start touring if by some miracle Axl releases the record.
*Which has pretty much been leaked all over the internet*

The album is definitely being released on 11/23 only at Best Buy stores. It's being released on vinyl as well which is strange. I guess it's being done in homage to his old fans since "Appetite" and "Illusion" were on vinyl I think.

This may sound silly but does anyone still have anything to play vinyl records on??
I gave that up a long time ago for cd.
I may have to give the GnR a listen but I am not a huge fan because of Axl and his attitude.

And Nickelbacks song is an awesome tribute to a great musician.

Buckethead is really sort of scary. But not a bad guitarist. Slash and Izzy better IMO. Just a matter of taste I guess.

Now if it's true that the lead singer for VR went back to STP in the middle of a VR tour, what are the chances that they might join back with GnR??

Ok, most likely next to none, but a girl can wish, right ;)
ETA Weiland did leave (I couldn't remember his name so had to check), but I don't know if they've found someone to replace him or not?? I adore Axl even if he is insane but it's not the same w/o Slash and Duff :(

Slash said in an interview once that even if Axl went to counseling and had his issues under control, it'd still be hard due to everything that has happened between them. Him secretly copyrighting the name GnR and such.

I'm not sure I can ever see him getting his issues under control, but yeah so much happened that it would probably be next to impossible for them to get back together. Sad though because they were pure magic...

You can still buy a record player at Best Buy and Circuit city and other places but I don't use them any more either. I think maybe only 70s hippes may. LOL!

Of course the Eagles and the Police said the same thing, right? :)
