Thinking of Hailey today.

I messaged a journalist to see if she would do a follow up on Hailey. She had written a great write up on another local missing person. She told me she has moved away but will contact some other journalist's she knows to see if they will do a follow up story and where the case stands. Maybe we will some movement in the news soon.

Well, the journalist wrote to me and said she had read up on the story of Hailey and how sad it was. She said she would email some of her journalist friends at the Standard Times and see if they would do a follow up story. I haven't heard anything else tho.

Thanks Knox. She sure looks healthier than before. If BJD didn't have anything to do with Hailey's murder I am sure everyday is a little bit of hell. Surely she would tell on Shawn if she knew anything..........on the fence about her for now.

I get it nannymo, for those of us who followed the case from the very beginning. It's difficult to reconcile the person you see now, with the person she was eight years ago. I think she has squarely put the blame on him recently. Like you, I'm unable to completely exclude her. Thinking about how the case unfolded, oh my gosh. Drugs, lies, cover-ups ...

Hailey is the case that brought me to Websleuths. I stayed up till the wee hours of the morning trying to learn all I could about her case. I was so intrigued to find this type of community on the internet...

I can never understand how a Mother could harm her child, yet I see it on a weekly basis here on Websleuths. BJD didn't strike me as a mean Mother, just immature and maybe selfish. I think she loved her children in spite of the drugs and lies. People who are doing illegal activities do not respond the way law-abiding citizens do so therefore, it is hard for me to understand her actions. Maybe she was just trying to protect what she "thought" she had. We all want to believe in the ones we love.

Maybe justice will prevail one of these days. It is my prayer it happens when LE can make a charge stand and put the who did this in prison for life.

The guilty party will never be caught because local LE were fixated on the wrong people for far too long. If you look at the wrong suspects, get tunnel vision and refuse to look elsewhere, then of course you are not going to find evidence to support your theory because there is none to find. That is the problem with these rural jurisdictions, usually the competence level of local LE just is not high enough for cases like this.

After eight years of vehemently disagreeing with you Tugela, I concede you may be right.

I will disagree. I think the circumstantial evidence (lying about getting fired, coming back towards CCity after leaving work, lying about the route he took to Moms (which went right by where Hailey was found) Hailey's comments about him standing outside her door) all tell me who the person is with no doubt. Not to mention David trying to get in and all the doors were locked.

I think if Billie had not protected him so faithfully in the beginning, things would have been very different. LE tried to make her see the evidence but she refused. Billie has to live with that the rest of her life. After she opened her eyes and saw him for what he is, today she thinks he murdered Hailey also.

I am afraid justice in this case will never be found here on earth, but I firmly believe Karma is a **tch and SA will get his some day.....God knows what happened and who is lying and who is telling the truth. Justice will come eventually to the person who killed Hailey.

I have always worried that the only way they are going to get SA now, is if he hurts someone else and gets caught. And that would be tragic if someone else had to pay, just to get Sweet Hailey some well earned, but belated justice.

I do believe one of these days he will repeat what happened with Hailey. It may not lead to murder, but I feel sure he will prey upon another young girl one day, if he hasn't already! JMO

I think that the case will be solved years from now ,but it will be.

Does anyone know where the POI is now or what he has been up to?
I seriously can not believe this still is not solved and no one has been arrested. This was one of the first cases I followed intensely and consumed me =( Unlike the last few posts, I believe they were equally involved.
I will never understand how these not-so-bright-people are able to get away with murder for all these years!
