When it was first announced the film would continue and he would be a producer, I was a bit surprised. But the more I think about it, the more it makes sense to me. Halyna loved her job and this was her last project. I don't think it is too crazy to think the family wants to see it as a memorial to her life. And I am sure there are real financial reasons for doing it as well. I don't think its wrong for everyone to take that into account.

Halyna had probably filmed quite a bit before the tragic accident that took her life. Her family probably does want the public to see her work.

I have no desire to watch the film. I wouldn't be able to put aside the tragic death and would be totally distracted by that while watching.

Me too.
I will skip this particular premiere.

Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said in a statement:

“In order to avoid further litigious distractions by Mr Baldwin and his attorneys, the District Attorney and the special prosecutor have removed the firearm enhancement to the involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of Halyna Hutchins on the ‘Rust’ film set."

“The prosecution’s priority is securing justice, not securing billable hours for big-city attorneys.”

He looks like he has aged since he fired the gun.

Bad photoshop job. You can tell by the lines on his shirt they are photoshopping to make him look bad. Adding a potbelly, fake eyelid, eyebrows, and unkept hair.

Did you check out the video? He looks rough.

Wow! Maybe this is how he looks unless DM doctored the video. Just does not look or sound like him. He looks like he's been in jail, the way jail or prison ages you. Long term stress.

He might regret all those interviews and SM posts. The indictment is detailed and makes him look bad. It brings up a lot of points to consider. They have video with his hand on the trigger he says he didn't pull. This could influence a jury, video is strong evidence.

Also, they interviewed other actors who make sure their guns are unloaded.

What is the vested interest a UK paper might have in making someone who isn't particularly significant here "look bad"?

Yep. In his position I can't see myself looking any better.

He was not in a very good mood for some reason. I don't understand why he barked at someone to get out of his way when trying to get into the wrong car. JMO.
I can imagine that if I was being photographed whenever a camera could get a shot in, or filmed whenever a videographer could show me, or my family, to the world, and sticking a microphone in my face every time I came in or out of the entrance to my home, for the past say almost year and a half, I'd be pretty barky and gruff and miserable too. Wouldn't you?

I am starting to hope he takes a plea for the sake of his health. He can then move forward, perhaps be an advocate for gun safety in the movie industry.

In a normal case that would be the most likely outcome. But of course this isn't a very normal case. LOL. I'm sure there are some back door communications about plea agreements going on. But they may be a bit difficult. In my opinion, the DA and special prosecutor have sort of talked themselves into a corner where the only viable option is to press forward. I think the DA's comments after the dismissal of the gun enhancement were unfortunate.

Alec Baldwin has a long, long history of losing his temper, particularly with photographers. Here is just one incident from ten years ago.

He’s also gotten into arguments with flight attendants for refusing to turn off his phone because he was playing Words with Friends,(he was booted off the plane), he punched an air conditioner once because he was too warm on a set, iirc, and if I looked for more links there are multiple incidents of his rude behavior that long predate what happened on the Rust set.

Including the infamous voicemail he left his eldest daughter when she was a child, when he called her a “rude, thoughtless little pig”

So IMO, even though he is in the worst trouble of his life, this is not caused only by the pressure on him now. This is just Alec Baldwin as he truly is.

ETA: here’s a link to the airplane incident:

I think they (the prosecution) should sit down and figure out what they would be doing if a similar type of accident occurred with unknown personalities. Somehow I doubt it would be like this, if that were the case. imo.

I think the reality is finally settling in. While he won the motion and isn't facing 6.5 years, he is still facing 1.5 years and now has started a battle plan. So, I doubt there will be any plea bargaining and I bet his attorneys are emphasizing this to him.

I keep trying to think how Alec might negotiate his way out of this, at this point. Now that MH has joined the prosecution's witness list (perhaps to discuss knowledge of who hired whom on that set and who had the most boss-like powers day-to-day), the impact of DH turning state's witness is also setting in.

I do think the prosecutors can now find an easier path to treating Alec "like a normal citizen." But I do not think they will let him plead all the way down to, say, a misdemeanor. They will at a minimum require him to plead guilty to a felony, perhaps with house arrest/ankle monitor. If that means Alec cannot do his daily paparazzi walks, so be it.

IMO. Total speculation on my part.

I agree. I believe that if an ordinary citizen pointed a gun at someone who was not a threat, and pulled the trigger, for no good reason, that person would have been in a lot more trouble, a lot sooner.

Here’s a case of pleading guilty to second degree manslaughter. Just the first case that came to mind, snd the details aren’t the same, of course, but I don’t respect the ‘film actor exemption.’

MOO
