While Hank's statements in and of themselves would probably be questionable (just as any early lies he told are), this current one bears a little examination. Regardless of Hanks propensity for truth and reasons for covering his own

, this piece does seem to fit in with a few other things that we do know.
1. Ron and Misty had a huge blowout on the phone. Misty wanted to leave the house to "babysit", after a three day bender of booze and drugs. Ron said no. (probably suspecting she was going out someplace to party some more).
2. Ron did call Hank at some point between this arguement and Misty's call that led to the 911 call. It is not unreasonable to suspect that Ron wanted someone to go check if Misty was in fact in the house.
3. We have statements that track back through TM that Misty's bed had not been slept in.
Add to this a few interesting leanings on things from LE and you start to get a pretty clear feeling that they do not believe for a minute that Misty was home or that this in any way involves a stranger or unrelated party.
- LE clearly was seeking witnesses that Misty was out and about that night. The way they asked left little doubt that they were sure she was out and were simply seeking to track her movements.
- LE just put this statemenet from Hank out into play. Hank or the family did not do it themselves. Given how tight lipped LE has been throughout, it is pretty safe bet that anything they are actually saying pretty well matches the theory they are working on.
- LE did not notify the family and in particular RC about this weekends search themselves. This is almost always always a clear sign that they strongly believe that it is not a stranger related crime, and that the person of interest is a close member of the family. As such they do not want to compromise investigation information through that person directly or indirectly through another family member.
There is one big bullseye for this investigation. Chances are it is not directly Hank. Although it is deeply disturbing exactly how much Hank and by implication RC rather obviously knew about Misty's whereabouts prior to even that initial 911 call.Given that this has never been publicly stated or comunicated to those searching for Hayleigh it is absolutely chilling.
It all comes down to exactly what were Misty's action that night? Where did she go? Where did she take those kids? Did she harm Hayleight herself? Did she trade Hayleigh to someone for drugs? Was her absense from the home when she was out partying or when she was disposing of the poor little girl? I am sorry but there is no happy outcome or possibility in this for Misty. She is in it up to her underaged drug addled eyeballs.
