I was speaking to my younger brother today and mentioned the case.The conversation turned to me sharing him what Id heard on the forums and LE saying JLM liked to fish.

He pointed out that all along Rt 250 (which runs parallel to I-64 all the way into C-Ville) are rock quarries that were created in the construction of the interstate. Many of those areas are prime fishing spots having grown over, then filling with water in the intervening years and stocked by local fishermen to produce a thriving fish population.

Some are quite deep. Deep enough even to require the use of divers.

I can see a perp thinking any of these area would be a good location to dispose of a body given their depth and proximity to the interstate.

One thing that I find challenging here as far as potential search locations is obviously the fact that with him being a cab driver he would potentially know of some off the beaten path locations (already mentioned here numerous times), but what really gets me is that as a cab driver, he might be more inclined to drive a further distance (used to driving, comfortable with driving long stretches)...which means, normal awareness space analysis might not work well here, eta: in addition to average mileage analysis as related to victim disposal. jmo

To me this just makes it seem to me like this guy is sooooooo not bright. Like, slow. Like he really thought they weren't going to let him wear anything.?? How can someone this slow possibly hide a body so well that nearly 2 weeks later nobody can find it?!? (My sad opinion that Hannah is deceased).

I don't think this guy is innocent, just shocked that he has pulled this off.

Slightly O/T, but this reminds me of this horrible story/article I came across the other day about a man who killed his girlfriend and ate her organs.

(He had served time for killing another girlfriend ("manslaughter"), but was released :banghead

Anyway, this guy had brain damage (sustained during his first killing):

If he did kill her,and it appears to be him I'm sure he left her closer to home. LE took his car. I doubt he had her anywhere near his home. IMO he would be a total idiot to have transported her in his sister's car.

Okay, thinking out loud and continuing upon my post above re: awareness space and average mileage re: victim disposal, how many miles was Morgan found from where she was last seen :lookingitup:? IIRC, she was found on private farmland...

So, hypothetically, if JM is responsible for Morgan's murder, he might go to greater lengths than he did with Morgan to hide Hannah, knowing that last time her discovery aided in the yielding of dna. (Also, we know killers techniques often become more developed and refined as they become a more experienced and organized as a perp) So...

I would assume he might also drive a greater distance to dispose of Hannah than he did with Morgan (or at least the same amount of miles)...

Now, with all that being said, none of the above can be considered golden, as Travis Forbes varied his disposal techniques immensely, as seen in the difference in disposal between Kenia (buried) and his other victim who survived (lit on fire and left to die burning in her house).

some sections blocked but others accessible-there is even a society at UVA for urban explorers with a hotline to call if you get stuck and don't want to call authorises http://www.tbatr.tk/

Trigon pledges made it a number of years ago. We verify that it is mostly correct, to the best of our purely anecdotal knowledge, although there are a number of small details that we've found to be inaccurate (there is an extra fork in New System by Kerchof Hall, and some of the entrances/exits have been locked/unlocked since this map was marked, among other things

Hopefully LE will utilize their best police interrogator in the business when JM gets back to VA.

(Heck, call in the guys from Guantanamo! Seriously, imagine if they got their best military guy to interrogate this ---those guys are used to getting results (not saying necessarily through physical torture), but they have the experience in interrogating even the most "unwilling to cooperate" witnesses in serious situations relating to national security! Anyway, just a thought...sure those guys are busy, but since this is such a high profile case and they have so many agencies working the case anyway and likely access to so many resources, it might be worth a shot calling in a Military Interrogator...Our military should be able to help in such domestic situations, assuming they can spare the time, jmo.

I'd call the tipline or send a message via the webpage they've set up. 5 miles of tunnels would be very easy for them to clear quickly.

I am continually thinking about the Baton Rouge serial killer (my neighbor's niece was one of the victims) and I believe DTL was "slow" and his family didn't comprehend that DNA was a definite link of him to the crimes.

So slow doesn't mean he isn't capable of doing things....

Yep, we're staring at maps down there! The threads are different, in case anyone is confused. This thread is to talk about the past and present searches for Hannah, the thread in the basement is for looking at possible search locations and plotting them on maps. Case anyone was wondering!
