Amen,
I also try to skim the really sad stuff to see if words or a call could help. I only get deep into it if I can help. Other wise I cry all the time.
Happy, happy joy, joy. Is my mantra.
Peace and Love

Crying is a universal language and tears don't stop at borders.

ETA: It's video surveillance of a "log" across a stream in Pennsylvania. Talk about diversity in wildlife! And, the sound of running water is a sound I like.
That is truely awesome.

Maybe not the forum to post this but - I live alone, and it's really windy out today - and one of my fake shutters had partially come loose from the house and it was banging on the siding. And of course calling a home repair person isn't going to happen. So, the internet has everything! I read where I could take a chisel and hammer (yes my husband had every tool every made), and shear off the pins holding the fake shutter. I did it, and it's no longer a problem. Thank gosh for information from the internet!

I’m actually going to try to read a book tonight. When my state gave the stay at home order, I grabbed 3 books and 7 movies from the library before it closed. I’ve watched two of the movies. That’s it, and it was weeks ago. I’ve been focused on the news and making sure we and my parents were prepared for yet another month of this.

Several times a week I dream about this virus in some way. Last night I dreamed I couldn’t smell, and began to panic, since that’s a symptom. So maybe I need to read before bed and see if that helps.

Blessings, everyone.

@JaneEyre that is interesting, my husband asked me last night about my dreams. I don't have any. He said that a lot of people have been having an increased amount of very vivid dreams.

I have been very tense, and I am done with news. Just for fun, we are watching old westerns. Last night was "Hang 'Em High". The bad guys wore black cowboy hats.

I
Dolly Parton to read bedtime stories in new video series

"Hello, I'm Dolly Parton, the book lady from the Imagination Library. I want you to join me April 2 when I start 'Goodnight with Dolly.' I'm going to be reading some stories from the Imagination Library."

The program is scheduled to run for 10 weeks and will feature stories including, "The Little Engine That Could," "Llama Llama Red Pajama" and Parton's own "Coat of Many Colors."
I LOVE THIS!

Have any of you seen the video of Samuel L. Jackson reading the bedtime story re: Staying home/corona virus on YouTube? It is hilarious and it has foul language.

The project will gather journals, diaries and other creative material from around Oklahoma County to help document the community’s experiences during the current crisis caused by the novel coronavirus.

“One of the library’s roles is to preserve our history and culture for future generations,” Special Collections Manager Larry Johnson said. “Collecting community stories is something we do every day, but these are anchored in the past. History is being made right now, however, so it’s important to have fresh first-hand perspectives to better inform and inspire those future generations.”

The diary project is open to all people regardless of age and the librarians will accept any format, from hand-written journals to social media posts, to artwork and poetry, project creator Judie Matthews said.

“Because some stories may feel deeply personal at this moment, we will be not be making these diaries public for several years. This will give us time to fully digitize and process these stories, as well as make sure privacy is maintained,” Matthews said.

If you are interested in learning more or contributing to the project, contact the Special Collections & Research department via a contact form here.
Share your coronavirus story for Metropolitan Library System’s new project

Does anyone else have something like this going on in your state? I think making, sharing and preserving memories is who, what, when, where, why and how we are.
Someday we will be history. History repeats itself. How will history remember us?
