Does anyone know how to clean a yoga mat?

I use it for stretching before and after workouts - we just got back from a 12 mile bicycle ride. Windy out too.

TIA

I use a yoga mat cleaner. From Amazon.

RE: Buffets, my husband's friends went to a local restaurant, Pizza Ranch, used to be a buffet, salad, pizza, sort of like Cici's Pizza. Well, they now ask you what you want, and provide table service.

No mo' buffets! The end of an era.

One of the Merry Maids owners called this morning to let me know that they are reopening their business the week of May 18. My regularly-scheduled cleaning is on Wednesday, so they will come on May 20. I said that I would like the ladies to be here longer than their usual hour. They don't do the guest bedroom/bath during regular visits will include both when they're here for 90 minutes. DH and I have done an OK job of keeping the house neat and clean, but we will both be happy to have the professionals do their thing :)

Commonly touched areas including the steering wheel, shifter, turn signal stalks and door handles all need a regular wipe down. Unlike the inside of your house, you shouldn’t use bleach or hydrogen peroxide to kill COVID-19 inside your car.

An alcohol solution or plain soap and water are just fine. After disinfecting your ride, remember to disinfect yourself by cleaning your hands thoroughly.

Just had a call from a Merry Maids owner. Since Michigan Governor extended stay-at-home order through May 28, the housekeeping service can't open next week like they expected. They are now scheduled to open the first week in June and will be at my home on June 3.

A nursing home in West Bloomfield has the highest number of cases in senior facilities statewide. As of last week, there were 56 cases at the facility (I think it's called WB Health and Rehab).

I thought you'd be back in Michigan by now; most of our neighborhood snowbirds have returned. If you scheduled an appointment for the chest CT, I'd go ahead with it. Better safe than sorry :)

I am going to have the Chest CT here in Florida: we will leave here at the end of May. If it weren't for hurricane season I would like to stay in Florida for the summer. My husband is hot to get back to Michigan. I am not surprised that there are lots of cases in a nursing home - but surprised W Bloomfield is the worst in the state. We live very close to W. Bloomfield---- I am very nervous about the 2 day ride home from Florida. Stopping at gas stations, using the bathroom and finding a hotel overnight----

Make multiple hotel reservations. When you get to the first one, ask to see the room in advance. If it doesn’t meet your cleanliness standards, or you get a bad vibe, leave. Go to the next one and do the same thing. You may need to stop a bit earlier than planned in order to meet the 6:00pm refund guarantee. It will be worth it tho. You won’t rest if you don’t feel safe and comfortable.

In the alternative, reach out to family and friends to see if you can “couch surf” along the way. Maybe someone has a nice guest room and bath that is rarely used. I have a friend in TN that has a mountain cabin. I stayed with her for 3 days back in 2018. Spotless accommodations. No cost. Fabulous visit. All those people who say come visit - now is the time to reconnect.

DH took my Beetle to the VW service center this morning for an oil change and replacement of brake lamp. One of the headlights was also out, so that was replaced. We haven't been anywhere at night for two months, and it's hard to tell if a headlight is out during the day. A neighbor noticed the brake light.

When the car was returned to DH, there was a memo inside: FOR YOUR SAFETY AND OURS, THIS VEHICLE'S HANDLES, SHIFTER, SEATS AND STEERING WHEEL HAVE BEEN SANITIZED.

In the class I used to take, they would lay them all out before class and just go over with a Clorox wipe.

In Texas, despite restaurants being allowed to be open for two weeks now, the Golden Corral parking lot appears to be empty all the time. I'm wondering if it is shutting down.

My housekeeper (private arrangement, not a company) skipped one of our every-two-week appointments. I sent her a check anyway. It was not intended to pressure her to come in any way, but she has come every time since.

At any other time, I would *love* to be asked for the use of my guest room, but right now I would ask someone not to stay with me. We have an immunocompromised daughter and are not allowing anyone other than the housekeeper and my ten-year-old niece in the house.

That's awesome. I am taking my 16yo son to get oil changed and car inspected today to show him how.

Hi. I hope everyone is hanging in there. Not going stark raving mad or anything fun like that. If you get super bored. Here’s a book I downloaded from wayback. I’m not sure if you can get into the second one which offers a different format.

Anyone else just exhausted? I am so tired lately. Needing extra naps.

1. Taking plenty of vitamins, D, B12, iron, everything.
2. Sleeping well, going to bed early.
3. Eating extra healthy, lean protein, vegetables, fruit, rice.
4. Exercising 1 hour a day
5. Getting plenty of sunshine and fresh air

Any other ideas? Open to anything.

Those are all wonderful suggestions, and I'm making a sincere effort to do everything you've suggested. My only addition would be taking time daily to meditate, pray, read (not on the internet), and, most importantly, focus on positive aspects of life and not the pandemic. A little "me" time is good for all or us, so take time each day to do something that makes you happy. I've always enjoyed word puzzles and do several every day. I also like classic films and try to watch at least one "old" movie (TCM) daily.

That said, I think part of feeling tired is the lack of normal, everyday activity. In that regard, it's probably more emotional exhaustion than physical tiredness. Because DH is working from home (Monday through Thursday), I have to pretty much stay in the den with the door closed and not move around the house too much to avoid distracting him. Our main TV, books/magazines, CDs/DVDs, and my desktop computer are in the den, so I'm not deprived of "entertainment" options, but it's frustrating to not feel comfortable and free in my own home. Hopefully, the stay-at-home order in Michigan ends on May 28, so we should be able to move about more freely by the end of the month.

Volunteering. As in calling an organization you admire, ask them how you can help. Answer phones. Help manage a website. Pack food bank boxes. Pick up and deliver packages for someone who cannot do curbside. Deliver meals to shut ins. Fostering an animal. Sewing masks. Call a neighbor and check on them.

No, not right now. I am working 40 plus hours a week. Plus my husband, who is a full time job.

But, great idea for someone who is hanging out at home.

Given my age (70) and mild asthma, I've pretty much avoided leaving home except for food during the past two months. I avoid phone calls due to DH working at home. I figure if I can hear him on his cell phone, he would hear me on the phone, too. I try to be as quiet as a mouse :D
