I've heard and read the claims that local folklore/rumors in Southington, CT, say that a former undertaker or maybe an employee at the former Hallahan Funeral Home, located at 208 Meriden Ave, Southington, CT 06489, was rumored to have abused corpses that came through the funeral home prior to when it ceased operations, which I think was in the 1980s. That building made national news in 1988 when the Snedeker family that lived there claimed that house was haunted. It became known as "A Haunting in Connecticut", and the famous Warrens, self-proclaimed demonologists, were involved in the media bonanza and stayed there.
I'm trying to find out if anyone remembers hearing about any kind of rumor about someone who was said to abuse the corpses there when it was a funeral home, especially anything you may have heard before the Snedeker family moved in in 1986.
Has anyone heard anything about a former funeral home employee or an undertaker from that area that people said practiced witchcraft or Satanism or was into occult stuff, or something like that? If you heard or know anything, please share it here. You can also contact me through a message if you want to keep anything confidential and off the internet. I don't want to tarnish anyone's name by spreading rumors, but abuse of a corpse is a crime, and the rumors may have had truth to them, as they sometimes do, so I think it would be interesting to try and find out who people say was rumored to have done such a crime or had an interest in such matters who was connected with the funeral home. Might be an interesting avenue to look into, see what records show about their life.
