Correct! and they still waited another two days before asking for and executing a search warrant.

Honest and truly, I am beginning to think I read the post from HP wrong, in that he was joking and I thought he was serious about 'rushing off to the house in search of stickers' (paraphrased). All I can say, in my own defense, is that sometimes it's hard to tell when someone is kidding just by reading - sometimes ya just gots to hear em and see their facial expressions!
OK "Rush off" was an exaggeration for effect.

I do it so often!

I have lost the plot now?

I think possible matching heart sticker backing was ONE of the things upmost in LE minds when the casually and deliberately strolled over to chez A for a second look.

Finding a single sticker backing of the exact right size, sitting in a box of memorabilia labelled Caylee would have been an impossible dream. But it came true?

I tend to agree, although I also find it interesting that they also suddenly got the hots for all of KC's shoes.

That would have made sense on the first warrant, unless they originally felt that the perp floated over to the site, and then changed their minds for some reason.
Shoes: May have found something, or "hey guys we're going back in anyway for the art stuff, anybody got and suggestions about other stuff to grab?"

Can I assume that you have some Irish in your background? Most people don't even know how to pronounce it, unless they are Irish :) My Grandma used Macushla when she talked to us kids, most probably because she had so many grandkids she couldn't remember all our names :)
Irish? Probably. There's always one in the woodpile somewhere, and anyway everybody's Irish at least one day a year. Scottish? Most certainly. There's even probably a Brit in there somewhere (Confusion To The English!!).

Every time one of your posts comes up I hear Robert Plant lyrics and Jimmy Page chords ("Oh, darlin', darlin' darlin' walk a while with me...).

:)

I just dated myself, didn't I?

Ahhhh, Much, much better. It was the mental image I got of poor Det. Melich, Det. Allen and the rest of the 'gang' running pell mell down Suburban, skidding around the corner onto HopeSpring and dashing the last few yards to the house that set me off the first time. Well, my DH always says I have an over active imagination

Don't be silly!

They had to zoom in from the opposite direction!

If they had gone straight up from the remains site JB would have had a field day about "cross contamination of evidence". Probably would have claimed that sticker backing was stuck to Yuri's shoe and he put it in the box?

I like your version better.

We could cast Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd.

I wish we could cast Clint Eastwood and have KC "interrogated" in a sports stadium to find Caylees location ASAP

LOL- I'll use that same defense.

The pink raised sticker was collected on the 18th, and page 3168 of the Jan 21 doc dump suggests they were aware of the residue prior to the 19th,since the reports are written in the correct date order.
Following day, the remains were positively identified as being Caylee.
And the day after, they carry out the 2nd SW (20th).

So it was more of a slow walk than a race to find the stickers at the A home, imo.

Now they have dirt to match

They could have guessed that when they did the first warrant. I'm sure it didn't take 8 days for it to suddenly occur to them ("Hey, guys. I wonder if the perp walked in?").

It seems that something might have made it a more pressing issue.

I can see your brain working but can not get a focus.

Perhaps shoe prints, but no mention of plaster casts etc. All I can think they might match is traces of soil and other stuff from the reains site might match the Beast's shoes? You are right to jest that they should have realised that at the start? Tell us what can you propose might be evidence found in the days at the remains site?

I wish I had a glimmer of a clue. That's why it bugs me.

I wouldn't have thought twice if it had been the first warrant.

I'm thinking of a few things, but end with the fact that they are not listed so would have to be more secret evidence. Such as soil impressions, various bits of shoes (Heels etc).

Or perhaps I was right and it was just a matter of what the hell lets collect her shoes now.

For the time being and in the absence of further data that's as good a reason as any.

I would not think that the soil content at the time when Casey put Caylee there would still be the same as it was when they were searching the area...what with flooding and all surely the soil would have changed dramatically. AND I would think that Cindy would have scrubbed down any sign of ANYTHING on Casey's shoes, especially any that were recovered from the vehicle or that came in from Tony's with her "stuff" since everything reeked of smoke. So I would not think there would BE any kind of evidence left on any of her shoes...so it must be something else...what is any man's guess.

You really should let the women guess, too. You'll get alot more participation around here.

Thinking about it - it really was no big deal to impound KC's shoes. She will not be needing them again EVER.

Just as well collect as much as possible. The room will need to be cleared of all that junk in a few months anyway. In fact it would be safe for C & G to start right now. It's a big help to Spindy really, though I suppose she can make a few bucks on some of it on ebay?
