No problem of scale, because we are looking for anywhere KC might have used the OTHER stickers on that sheet, to connect her to the epoxy heart sticker found at the scene.

Some of the other stickers on that sheet are very small.
That's a good point. I was thinking about some of the suggestions that the bubble sticker found was of the type specifically sold as cell phone decorations (Why?). They are more gel like and the largest is way too small.

Cell phone stickers are very small. We run into a problem of scale.

As a cautionary note I refer you to Douglas Adams description of the war between opposing galactic races and there joint attack on Earth - the G'Gugvuntts and Vl'hurgs. Due to a terrible miscalculation of scale the entire battle fleet was swallowed by a small dog.

Ha! Was his name Samson?

Only because we really, really want it to.

We can conjecture that the sticker, not sticky enough to stay on the duct tape (but sticky enough to leave a residue that remained on the "worn surface" of the tape for six months) fell off, then traveled twice as far as the remains were from the curb through underbrush that would discourage a small rodent, re-attached itself securely to a piece of wet, dirty cardboard, and waited patiently to be discovered.

Or we can conjecture that finding a heart sticker of a common size and shape, in an obvious trash dump site in the middle of a huge residential development, a few hundred ft. from an elementary school isn't really all that much of an anomaly.

The discovery of both a "heart shaped residue" and a "similar" heart shaped sticker is enough to drive any sleuthing addict into a true "foam at the mouth" frenzy, but sometimes coincidences do happen. I don't think that this one is all that improbable.

I really can see how the sticker could have fallen off the duct tape and was found elsewhere, considering the storm that passed through. I mean, what are the chances that a wooded area less than 1/2 mile from the A's home would be searched several times and no one found a body that had been there since June? We don't know how tightly or loosely affixed to the cardboard the sticker was. In fact, the sticker may have been found merely sitting atop the cardboard.

I wish LE would have elaborated on "similar size". But the fact that they wrote it up in their synopsis must mean they believe there's a good chance it's the same sticker.

But there's heart shaped residue on the duct tape which had been around Caylee's mouth. What caused that? Even if no sticker was found?

Right. Logic would tell you that the heart sticker that fell off the duct tape has to be somewhere around there.

Logic tells me a paper sticker could have rotted away completely.

And speaking from experience with little grddtrs that LOVE stickers- some of the stickers are about as biodegradable as plastic bottles.......they've put stickers on gym sets outside, that although weathered, are still clinging. Stickers on bikes, wagons, etc. Some do come off or wear off eventually, and leave a residue the size and shape of the sticker. I've found stickers outside on the deck, that the kids stuck to planters, etc, that came off, got washed away in the rains to a crevice in the corner of the deck, but are still intact, but slightly weatheed. Some are made of vinyl like material that will keep the sticker almost new looking, even if the glue on back has weathered away....

Might be 12 and read the books yesterday? Anyway, I am told I never grew up!

That's a good point. I was thinking about some of the suggestions that the bubble sticker found was of the type specifically sold as cell phone decorations (Why?). They are more gel like and the largest is way too small.

Why? I (think) the "sticky" on a cell phone decor sticker would be stickier than a sticker made for a scrapbook. Therefore might have survived the hurricane and the elements?

IMO observasion is that cell phone stickers are usually tiny. Was this one in the photo suppossed be 3/4" in size? If, so, no way a cell phone sticker. I'm not completely educated on this topic. But I think I read that pieces of a photo frame were possibly found? And this photographed sticker appears to be stuck on cardboard "matting"? If KC placed a framedphotograph with Caylee's remains, where are the bits of the photo and the glass? Not recovered?

May be different stickinesses, but all seem to me to stick like "mud" to a blanket?

I have looked at suggested cell phone stickers and they range from less than half the size of the one found, to much smaller still. I see pictures advertising cell phone decorations on the corner of message window, but the sticker found is so big it would cover the entire screen.
I think the frame was just an old broken frame nothing to do with Dopey.

Sorry - I haven't had time to read through this whole thread, but I am AMAZED that you all found the sticker set. Great Job!
Question - has anyone sent this info to LE? They obviously would be in a better position to find the matching stickers in photos since they have the complete set.
Heck, even Annie might be able to help if she was willing.

Just firing up for the day. Thought I'd be picky with the bit bolded (just a small part of the post). Should read "similar sized"
You're right!!!

They don't even go as far as to suggest it's a similar shape.

Interesting...those Sandylion stickers that marellano found that exactly match the one found on the cardboard matting come in a package describing them as "gem" stickers, and Sandylion seems to use "gem" and "epoxy" stickers as interchangeable terms. So I don't think they are the soft clear rubbery kind of sticker; I think they are the rigid ones like you would use on a cell phone (or for scrapbooking). Which would make it even more unlikely that the pink striped glittery heart sticker found on the cardboard matting was ever placed on duct tape across Caylee's mouth. A rigid epoxy sticker would not stick on duct tape across a soft object (sorry for the visual).

ETA: This brings us back to the possibility raised by a few people (ecs5298 among others) that this epoxy sticker could have been sitting out there forever and is unrelated to KC.

Me too!!! Me too!!!

No, no hint at all about which particular heart shape.

My guess is that it was caused by a heart shaped sticker.

Which may be why LE hightailed it back to the A's house after the discovery.

They went in search of the actual sticker sheet/backing. O'KAY I'LL CATCH UP - DUH!

Be very, very careful about the description "hightailed".

It can cause typing fatigue, maybe even carpal tunnel syndrome.

Maybe because it hadn't been searched several times?

Or at all?

Meaning?... that although it was close to KIOMARIES description area, it wasn't EXACTALLY where she stated? Or even exactally where RK said he searched before?
Just asking what YOU think/mean.
Personally, I think Caylee's remains were found further?... (N;S;E;W)...don't know the direction, just think closer to Hopespring than the dirt trail spot across from the school.
