Heath Ledger has been found dead

I just saw a report that after Heath's body was found by the maid and masseuse, the masseuse made 3 phone calls to Mary-Kate Olson, BEFORE calling 911. Explanation: she was calling MKO to find out what do do.

Ok... he isn't breathing... perhaps it is obvious he is dead... how hard is it to realize that you need to call 911 IMMEDIATELY?!?!?! And obviously this isn't unusual...

It came out this morning that the masseuse does NOT have a license. Practicing without one is a Felony, punishable by up to 4 years in prison.

I read about the massage therapist being in some hot water this morning. I wanted to make the comment that the above law is stupid beyond explanation.

Couple that, though, with friends that said he seemed withdrawn lately and acting "funny". And he was taking it hard being apart from his daughter.

It seems pretty obvious to me his brain chemicals were messed up from something - be it prior drug use, depression or bipolar; and he was desperately self-medicating, trying to feel better.

HE was probably really proud about it; many men are and don't want to admit they need help. Jack Nicholson's remark is chilling to me - " I warned him.." (Or I told him); something like that.
In a follow up question to Jack, he stated that he warned them all against Ambien. He said he almost drove off a cliff when he took it. I don't think he meant illegal drugs.

I love the Aussies, too!

The messages from his family made me sob, esp. the ones from his sister and father. May they feel God's comforting hand.

As for the Phelps Psychos, if they try to go to Australia and picket the funeral, it might be the last thing they ever do, and I pray it will be if they try. Most of the people they harass are soldiers' families, just regular people without any powerful backing, but there may be a enormous backlash of a kind they have never seen if they do this to the Ledger family.

I cried when I read this today. I know it sounds silly and all but I thought he was a great actor and an all around decent guy. I'm surprised I am mourning someone I didn't personally know. Of course, we are close in age so maybe that's why it hits home. I wish there was something I could do to stop his family's pain. That's life...and it's out of my control.

I'll squeeze my babies tighter though.

Oh, for the record. The preacher was a moron. It's easy for him to stereotype and be an all around bigot. We know the truth and that's all that matters. Australia ROCKS!!!

They will be lucky to make into the country leigh but if they do I dont think their picket line will stand for long.;) ...i just hope they stay away from Heaths family while they are in NY.

One of the networks had biography about Heath on and showed many interviews over the years. In an interview about one of his last movies he stated that he entered a rehab to do research on his part. I think this is the "rehab" he went into for a few days. I also noted that even in his early interviews he was fidgetingand moving around in all the interviews. In one he had an orange that he was playing with and peeling. I think interviews just made him uncomfortable and that's how he handled it.

hard to know what's true or not....

As for Ledger's trip to rehab, the source said: "It was during his filming of The Dark Knight. Heath's addiction was really getting in the way of his ability to act. He went to rehab but left fairly quickly, within a number of days.

thanks sweet...these morons are also attacking our country on Australia Day..which is much the same to us as your July 4th is to you....the timing could not be worse:mad: .
Heath was an Aussie and I think thats how he came across in his interviews..I think the nervousness some are talking about in his interviews could have been shyness.

Messing around with these types of drugs is DANGEROUS! I know 1st hand. I take Prozac, Xanax & Elavil all of which depress the respitory system. A friend of mine had some Somas (muscle relaxants) and offered me some. I said no and then asked my shrink and he do not take those. The dentist gives me Vicodin when I have dental work but it doesn't seem to interfere with my "daily drug cocktail".

Heath's body (and family) are already on the way to LA for a PRIVATE memorial service there - and then on to Australia. I don't think the Phelps Morons can get a clearance to go to Australia and even if they do, by the time they get there, Heath will be laid to rest - what are they gonna picket??

Those people are crazy - they are sick - and they WANT to be that way. They live in their own sick and twisted little world - it's like a bad brainwashing experiment - keep cramming it in and eventually you can raise kids who believe the world is flat and the moon made of swiss cheese. I wonder HOW CPS can allow them to isolate and home-school their kids but it certainly proves the USA is all about religious freedom - even for people like Koresh, Manson and Phelps.

If no-one paid any attention to them and they didn't get on TV they would stop protesting at funerals and Veteran's Hospitals. The more the media talks about them, the more they do - so the media will keep talking. Phelps is mentally ill and is making his family mentally ill by association and brain washing. We should ignore the whole family or put them all in the crazy ward of the closest public hospital - same as we do with schizophrenic homeless people on the street corners mumbling to themselves when they become a danger to themselves or others ...no different.

Heath and his family need not worry, when it is their time, Phelps and his band of miscreants will not be spending eternity in Heath's paradise....

Heath is not gone, he is just out of sight for a time, like a ship on the Horizon, he has moved out of our sight to another shore we cannot see. I am sure he was greeted with great joy when he arrived on that distant shore and I know he feels the love of his family and friends and fans where he is. May Peace and Comfort be his and may his family find solace in the love of so many sent to them in their dark hours.

My Opinion

This has crossed my mind too. I was wondering if he was taking the anti anxiety meds because of it. I've heard of actors/singers losing their nerve so to speak.

He was an Aussie through and through and believe it or not we are a very shy bunch.:) .even Steve Irwin was known to be a shy bloke at heart...maybe Heath had trouble with the limelight.

Dingo, you I think already know my love of your country and all of it's people. I'm so sorry you are all going through such an awful time. If I could get my butt to the state them creepy, nut jobs the Phelps freaks are in I'd knock them for a loop and an extra one for our Peter Allen. Yes I would. May Heath rest in peace and his family find some solace. You all should be proud of the talent and compassion you have in your country.

Many actors are around for decades and barely make anything worth watching. Ledger was around for a brief time and made quite a number of good films.

I thought "A Knight's Tale" was a fun film, but after "Lords of Dogtown", "Monster's Ball", and then "Brokeback Mountain", with that truly evocative perforance as Ennis ... he proved he was becoming one of the important actors of our time . I also thought he succeeded in one of the more difficult roles in "I'm Not There", playing the role of a man who had found brief fame playing the role of a man playing a series of roles.

If you haven't already done so, check out 'Two Hands', my favourite lesser known film starring Mr. Ledger...his performance in it is nothing slick, but the kid was wide open and oozing whatever it is that's needed for an individual to become a star.

As an actor, Heath Ledger was very, very good, and might have been great.

Condolences to his family and friends.

I was reading the People magazine article today, and it was mentioned by several "friends" that he was a "shy" guy; not really all that comfortable in the Hollywood hoopla.

They did say that he partied alot also, and was prone to "excesses", whatever that means.

I just think it's sad that he couldn't have gotten proper professional help - I know it was out there for him. Owen Wilson was a very similar close call in my view - he had broken up with his girlfriend (Kate Hudson); and became depressed. What if Heath's family had just be closer, geographically?

We ought to be able to pick up on it when friends or workers are having serious troubles - we lose them before they've found their potential and their values - this young man's talent and potential to make a difference were definitely there; but mainly he seemed a good person with depth and good character, all too lacking amongst many of the Hollywood types these days.

"The Good Die Young" - it seems he was one of the good.

I haven't seen "I'm Not There", but would like to now.
