ND Heather Caras, 39,vehicle found abandoned with keys in the ignition, disappearance described as out of character, Linton North Dakota, 24 Jan 25.

To my knowledge the possible sightings in Fergus falls have not been confirmed. It honestly feels like they made assumptions on her disappearance and are just sweeping her under the rug since they don’t have the capabilities to handle a case like this. They can’t even fingerprint her truck. They should have requested help from the Feds from the start. Larger departments from bigger cities ask for their help, why won’t this tiny 4 man department do the same? I honestly have so much trouble understanding this.
Same thought process. It doesn't make any sense, and the news/fbi/someone should get involved. Speaking both as her friend, and trying to be objectively as I can.. I keep looking at it going, why didn't they ask for help in the beginning as soon as they found her truck in that manner... her shoes? When they didnt get in contact with her?
No activities on her socials?
What about her bank account?
Has anyone checked local business/traffic cameras? Ring cameras?
A person that devoted to her kids?
Who always checked in with her friends?
Almost 8 weeks of not checking in? No way.

A person can't just up and dissappear in this day and age without a trace. Not for this long. It's time that tiny man team ask for help.

I am one of Heathers oldest friends, I have known her for 25 years. I know LE thinks she just left on her own, but almost every single one of her oldest and longest friends disagrees. You’ve likely seen my Facebook reels regarding her. I have a private message from her approximately one month prior to her disappearance where we were discussing a mutual friends and what might have led them to kicking out their teenager. Her words were I could never and would drop them off to their dad. I can post a screenshot later. I’ve been working with two of her other friends one being the friend who has known her the longest(also went to school with this friend as well as Heather) and the other was her rock while she lived in Colorado. They will also try to get on here when time allows and discuss what they know of her as well. Someone else asked about guardianship that she was granted. Her son is autistic and has special needs, is unable to care for himself. He turned 18 last year and that is why she had to go through the guardianship process to be able to handle his medical etc because he legally can’t give POA since he is unable to understand. The boys are with their father now and he’s trying to go through the same process but may prove costly since it was established out of the state he’s in and where the boys were born as welll as where their mother mostly grew up.
Glad you could come post here too Aimee. 🙏 We'll find her. There's no other option in this. 🥺

These are the current facts of the case/limited timeline I have at the moment.
1. Teen son(youngest who is able to communicate) told aunt his mom said sometime in the days leading up to Heathers disappearance they were going to have a family day in Bismarck that Friday. Instead she disappeared.
2. Heather was last seen by the teenaged son who is able to speak(obviously her oldest son with special needs likely saw his mom as well but is unable to communicate)
3. Heather told teen son to watch his older brother and never returned(date is 1-24-25, date of her disappearance)
4. That same teen son walked to school because he was scared and notified his teachers his mom did not return.
5. Truck was found on 1-25-25 at Beaver Bay, ND by a down the road neighbor of hers who notified law enforcement. It was determined the keys were still in the ignition. Her shoes were found so many feet away from the back bumper of her truck. No sign of footprints beyond the shoes.
6. K9s were put on the ground one week later. They hit around where the vehicle was and trailed to the highway before losing scent.
7. Two possible sightings in Ferguson Falls, MN
8. Her phone is no longer active.
9. Heather last texted a friend @ 9:14am the morning of her disappearance
5. How did this person know the truck was all the way in Beaver Bay? 🤔 Did they just happen to come across it? How did they just happen to come across the truck all the way out there?
Just curious and throwing off the wall questions out there.

And for that matter... HOW did her truck get all the way to Beaver Bay from Linton?

That is a question we asked and he stated he was just driving around and spotted it. If you drive down that hwy which is the only hwy leading out you could see the truck
Right, but it's an approx 20 min drive from Heathers house. 🤔 Not near anywhere she was planning on going. Her social media posted her near a different bridge the day before... why go to a completely different area the day after she went missing to look for her, and not where she was last taking photos of herself?

Just super curious of that. It's odd.

Yes her shoes were found outside of her vehicle so many feet away from her back bumper and no footprints beyond where her shoes were. I feel the same way, that screams foul play to me but they think she left willingly despite all of her closest friends who’ve known her for what feels like forever keep saying she wouldn’t. You can also see a screenshot of a message from her to me stating she could never give up on her kids or kick them out like the person we went to school with. She’d take them to their dad even though his involvement in the kids lives has been minimal.
Praying for you friend. This is going to sound strange but what kind of shoes did she have on? Slip on/off or tie/boot etc.? I don't know why that stands out to me but if the shoes were at the back of the truck and they were slip on could she have removed them to climb into the back of the truck for something and tragedy happened or she left. Or could she have been made to remove ( tied shoes/boots) prior to being taken or left. I agree with your description she doesn't seem to be the kind of person to up and leave her responsibilites.

She always wore vans, and had many kinds. Typically she had them tied so she could just slip them on. Now.. that being said.. with the weather and heavy snowfall that comes with where she lived, I'm positive she also had boots on.. (speculating)I'm not sure what shoes she had on that day.

Her post on social media(1/21) a couple days prior to her disappearance showed her in red vans at the Grant Marsh Bridge in Bismark..
and my first thought was.. why do you have those on with snow? Why are they dirty? Why are you so close to the water where you can slip with your vans on?
(It wasn't uncommon for her to post her vans on social media) but her shoes-aside from her sons- were important.. she collected them like her tattoos.. and typically aren't dirty for as long as I've known her. Worn and loved... but not covered in dirt. She only has maybe two pairs that she let get cruddy for park play with the boys.
And the next post on her social media was of a stop light but unsure of which town, and a meme... (both also 1/21)then the following day was another meme(1/22).. then 2 days after she went missing..(1/24)
Then her truck was at a different bridge altogether the day after she went missing(1/25)20 min away at Beaver Bay Recreational Park... when her plans were supposed to be in a different location altogether the day she went missing... Bismark... like the photos that were posted on her social media.
It doesn't make any sense..

Were those photos posted for her?
Was the text sent to her friend for her?

Again... stating questions we don't have answers to.. and thinking outloud.

We know she was seen by her son(s)-(bless Ethan too, just because he's non verbal doesn't mean he didn't see her.)
But the other question, did she have control of her phone in the few days prior leading up to her disappearance? 🤔

So that's what I'm 'chewing' on right now.
How did she get from A to B.. and C.. her location- is missing piece. Who has her phone now? Is it in the truck? And who knew her truck was going to be there? *sigh*

There's too many holes in her timeline.
Again.. thinking outloud helps me process. 🙏🥺
