ND Heather Caras, 39,vehicle found abandoned with keys in the ignition, disappearance described as out of character, Linton North Dakota, 24 Jan 25.

What do you think would mean "they were going to have a family day in Bismarck that Friday"?? Family day with whom exactly and for which reason? Do you know, whether the family day was celebrated despite Heather's absence? - It seems to be no coincidence, when Heather disappeared just then, IMO.

I like it very much, that you as a good friend are trying to find her!
She and her youngest son Ayden planned a family day in Bismark. She was going to spend the day having fun with her children. They never got the chance to because Heather went missing that morning. So instead of going to Bismark her son was reporting her missing.

And I'm not accusing anyone of anything, just pointing out oddities. I'm glad he found it. Just also curious when the truck got there. 🤔
I believe it’s the highway that leads out of the town and possibly the path you’d take to go most anywhere outside of Linton…literally a one horse town

Praying for you friend. This is going to sound strange but what kind of shoes did she have on? Slip on/off or tie/boot etc.? I don't know why that stands out to me but if the shoes were at the back of the truck and they were slip on could she have removed them to climb into the back of the truck for something and tragedy happened or she left. Or could she have been made to remove ( tied shoes/boots) prior to being taken or left. I agree with your description she doesn't seem to be the kind of person to up and leave her responsibilites.
She wore vans and the shoes were found a few feet away from the rear of her truck. No other evidence of her

She's been missing for almost three months and you stated it is a very small local sheriffs office. Is there a way to get the State Police involved to help, or does the sheriff's office have to ask them for help?

They did finally ask for some assistance from them(called BCI there, seems most places call it state bureau) but they told me when I called they wouldn’t tell friends or family ANYTHING until the case is closed. Wrong on so many levels, and yet even though they’ve stepped in to my knowledge her truck is still in local impound with no forensic processing.

I hope they find her. They may be researching first prior to processing. We can hope that the time they are taking is being used wisely in a search for her. I'm afraid they aren't doing forensic processing because they still think she left willingly, and that is what seems to make cases harder later down the road. State investigators tend to not share anything about cases they are actively working on. Especially in the beginning. Don't give up. They may be doing more than it seems. Has the local news covered anything there for potential sightings? If they haven't done a lot, keep pestering them until they do.

Local news did one story and that’s it, and by story they read the sheriffs flyer and that was it. The whole thing has been incredibly frustrating.

Surely that is 2 months or is the date on WS incorrect

@amiefurr

I think I read upthread that you mentioned pictures of Heather at bridges or on bridges and that her truck was located near a bridge. Is that correct?
I believe it’s near a bridge but not where the photos she posted…the bridge in her photos I believe is in Mandan, a suburb of Bismarck

Some of her friends have been contacted by a news outlet from Bismarck to run another story on her. Likely won’t air today because they have a missing kid. There are so many people there vanishing into thin air and I honestly feel that the Feds need to be investigating everything there because something is not right. A lot of the missing are American Indian and when you read comments on posts about different missings in ND you get several comments about trafficking in the area.

Just putting out her photos again, from fb profile posted up thread, including pics with tattoos

This is screenshots of a public Facebook post by the man who found her truck the next day. Things to note: house was destroyed before the boys aunt arrived. Boys aunt also verified with school and kids doctors that NO emergency contact was listed. Her story has been picked up by the salty 3 crew(rumble is where they go live and this is the rumble handle) and here’s a link to their fb page where they share the most recent news airing done last week. Thoughts on this for those with no emotional attachment Salty3 Pancak3s
