What kind of reputation does the MPD have among you locals on WS? Do potential witnesses/informants/friends/acquaintances/workmate feel fee and comfortable going to the police or do they talk more amongst themselves? Sometimes the most insignificantly seeming tidbit turns out to be a missing link. It doesn't have to be a concrete "I saw or I heard"......it could be something not seen or a missing scheduled call, etc.
Also, so many times I have heard of cases where, years later, someone comes forward with information and then says, " they (police) never got back to me" or, worse yet, "they never contacted me". I hope the people that do talk among themselves, also talk to authorities about what they saw, heard or overheard.

Does anyone know how many times, or if, he's been interviewed/interrogated by the MPD? Can they legally drill him on that media interview he gave that most of us believe is riddled with inconsistencies?
To those of you who know him, would he cave trying to smooth over the flaws in his story or is he so confident it wouldn't rattle him?

I have a question to see if anyone has any sugeestions: A very good friend of the Scott Family has been on Maui since Charli dissappeared helping search. He is going to stay in Maui and keep searching along as it takes. Here is the problem, he lives in Tahoe and the person who was keeping his dog can no longer keep it. Options are to find a organization that helps people like they do for the miliary, " dogs on deployment" or get the dog over to Maui. Any ideas, suggestion? Dont want to loose a resource the family has for fulltime search.

Wish I could help but I live in Ohio lol. I used to do volunteer work with a dog rescue program. I would foster dogs until a good home was found from them. Maybe a similar program exists and a foster family can take the dog until he gets back. Hope this helps.

I'd talk to a/the humane society/societies in the Tahoe area and explain and ask if anyone fosters.

I have friends in several parts of CA who do and certainly would in a situation like this if needed. That doesn't help as it's still too many hours for this individual, but I'd think Tahoe would have a few, maybe volunteers at the shelter even, who would do it given the situation.

Or it's at least worth asking.

One thing I do know is that if the dog is brought to Maui it will undergo a mandatory quarantine. More info can be found here: http://hdoa.hawaii.gov/ai/aqs/anima...rabies-quarantine-frequently-asked-questions/

What breed of dog is it? It might be best to check with a rescue group for that particular breed for help find a foster family.

I have two suggestions. One is to board the dog and use some of the donations to pay for the boarding.

The second is to contact this organization. They should be able to provide some guidance:

and I think (perhaps a local Hawaiian can weigh in) that animals coming from the mainland must be in quarantine, so getting doggy to Maui might not be an option, sadly. I agree - find any rescue agency - most of them (here anyway) will find a foster home for this dog. And if no one takes him/her, I will!!!! That is how I ended up with 2 of the three I have now. But bigger than that, may this family friend find solace in working to help find Charli and ultimately, for justice.

ETA: was posting the same time as LaLouve (re quarantine).

I feel so helpless here in Charli's thread but am so buoyed in general by the love and support here in her thread. May answers come soon for this young woman and all who knew and loved her - and to your island community dealing with this investigation. I have visited twice and loved my time on Molokai. I will always think of Charli and her spirit (conveyed so well here by numerous posts and sharings) whenever I think of Hawaii.

Chapter 4-29 Hawaii Administrative Rules, governs the importation of dogs, cats and other carnivores into Hawaii. This law states that dogs and cats meeting specific pre- and post-arrival requirements may qualify for 5-day–or-less quarantine program, which has a provision for direct release at Honolulu International Airport after inspection.http://hdoa.hawaii.gov/ai/aqs/animal-quarantine-information-page/

Quarantine can be as long as 120 days.

How about a pet sitter? I have had clients in the past who were gone for a month when I did pet sitting on the side. Or another trusted friend in Tahoe?

Someone asked this question awhile back but received no answer: does SC have a lawyer?

  • #936
Yes, I've heard from several accounts that he got a defense lawyer the day after Charli's missing person status was changed to a homicide.

Thank you.
I hope the MPD interrogated him intensely before the status change.
Wonder who's footing the bill.

I am willing to help with the doggie. Recently put our elderly dog to sleep and have big yard and am local enough to assist. I love animals, and I want to help Charli.

If the message conversations posted on the FB page "a study" are in fact with SC...SC sounds like he thinks he's going to be a celebrity. "buy the rights" geez, that's where his head is at?? How to benefit from all of this?? He is truly a narcissistic, delusional, sick man. Of course that is my opinion. He finds false comfort that there is no evidence. Oh but there is.

Crabapple Jones has posted a new(ish) FB cover photo of a grove of trees. Anyone know what the markings on the far-right tree signify?
