Hi and welcome, let me catch you up a bit!

The broken down truck story has not been corroborated by anyone to the best of my knowledge. Nobody saw the truck broken down or stuck in a ditch, nobody saw SC trying to fix/unstick it. We have only SC's account of what happened that night. Many of us believe that the truck was never stuck at all. She was at her sister's house in Haiku until about 8 PM that night, and her sister described her as "exhausted."

:seeya: Hello and Good Morning !

I am about halfway reading through Thread #1 (lots of activity on the Holly Bobo case this week which has kept me busy) ... but I will continue reading through the current thread until I get caught up on Charli's case.

JMO but the ex-bf is stinky hinky ... so WHO drove him from where his vehicle was "broken down" -- Oh wait -- "stuck in a ditch" -- to his home ? Or could he have walked ?

And the biggest red flag, imo, is what "man" would even think of asking a 5 month pregnant woman to help him with his vehicle -- day or night ?

Catch up with y'all later ...

JMO and :moo:

The way it's worded feels like it's unrelated, specifically the detail "4 officers". Maybe wishful thinking, I hope for true progress here.
I just assumed they were going to talk with MPD about the freakazoid that was taking down the posters. Does anyone get some other vibe?

JMHO, but I don't think it would take 4 MPD officers to discuss poster removal.

i'm thinking more forensics results are in. Hopefully a possible arrest!?

The fact that they are meeting with 4 police chiefs seems significant..are there 4 police chiefs? There is the chief of police, the deputy chief of police, I'm not sure who the other two would be.
Anyway, I'm not sure they would need 4 upper ranks for the poster taker downer.

There has been a recent subtle hint of movement (before the poster issue).
I also think that they have been as forthcoming as they can be. With the outpouring of supporting comments I would think that if it was regarding the poster taker downer they would clarify to some degree that the meeting is an update to that not in relation to finding Charli. It seems bigger to me.

I didn't see mrsobrian or kapua's post. lol...so we agree 4 police not needed for a poster idiot! lol

See, and here I was thinking that they just got 4 Police Chiefs from 4 different districts to talk with them about aggressive poster remover and make sure people putting up the posters would be safe. But that is probably because that is what happened umpty doodle years ago when a bunch of my friends and I were putting up posters asking for information regarding a friend of mine who was murdered and we were all being harassed by some bozo. Said bozo decided that my murdered friend "deserved what she got" and "whoever kilt her did the world a favor" (This guy didn't even know my friend...just a whack job). We had police from six different regions in our city watching out for us. But that was a long time ago in a big city on the mainland....

See how our experiences shape our world view? I hope you guys are right.

Great minds think alike, LOL! I wonder if they will be able to share any of the discussion.

Wow. There are some real nutjobs out there. I don't care if we are right or not, I just want Charli and Joshua to be found and the person responsible for their deaths to be locked up where he can never hurt anyone again.

You could be right Ghostwheel.

But, before the poster incident there were indications the tide was turning. MOO! I think this is probably related to forensics, too. About a week ago the FCP said the FBI was involved, most likely on forensics and, possibly profiling. :please:

I'm hoping you guys are right because then there is a greater possibility that whomever did this will get charged and in getting charged might confess to what actually happened. It's great when the perp is locked up; it's better when the family has the opportunity to deal with whatever happened, possibly find anything having to do with their loved one, and be able to set their loved one's spirit free. IMO, a spirit can never be free if the murder of it's body is unsolved. But that is JMO. :)

I watched the Disappeared episode last week and am going to be re-watching it with my boyfriend today. This is such an interesting case.

I'm really curious about whatever LE found that points to a homicide. At first I thought it was blood or brain matter, but then I saw the wording of ''something Charli couldn't have lived without''. That jumped out at me because it suggests that this ''something'' was a physical object. Does anyone know if she had an illness that required daily medication?

It could be pregnancy-related. She could have had serious preeclampsia or gestational diabetes that meant she absolutely needed to take her medicine at least once a day.
Asthma keeps coming to mind because it's not an uncommon condition. Even if Charli has a history of only mild asthma, her pregnancy could have made it a lot more severe, especially if she didn't have access to her inhaler. Asthma is also linked to a higher risk of preeclampsia. I'm thinking that this ''something'' could have been an inhaler.

Finding an inhaler or medication doesn't necessarily prove by itself that it's a homicide ... but finding it in a shallow hole, thrown up in a tree, or otherwise concealed strongly points to foul play. Especially if it is found bloodied, or with other personal items Charli wouldn't have left without.

Poor thing. I hope her - and her son's - remains are found soon. The son in particular just hurts my heart because he never even got the chance to take his first breath; he was dead before his life even started. Cruel world.

I don't think many pregnancy related complications are often life threatening. GD is typically controlled with diet. If she had pre-e, she would have been hospitalized upon diagnosis from my own experience.

That is a great thought. I don't know that she had any medications she needed, but that would be another reason for that type of wording. I still think it was something from Charli, herself, but I'm glad to see an alternative explanation for the terminology.

  • #396
Great thinking! You are right the wording does make it sound like an object like a heart stint or something. Never read that she had to use some sort of support like that tho. Thanks for joining the conversation. I like outside of the box thinkers!

I don't have the time to comb through all the facts and bits of information that have accumulated in this case. So......help! Does anyone know if the tooth/teeth and bone (and maggot) reports are true and, if so, have they been confirmed as likely related to Charli? I don't believe any forensics has been given to the public. Is it all still unsupported supposition?

Forensics are being done on a bone and blood found at the crime scene near Keanae.

<<<snipped>>>

The area police were back in today was very remote, very muddy. It was along the Hana Highway near Keanae. The same area where Charli's clothes and her blanket were found days after her disappearance. Police sources say the items were filled with maggots. Her bra was also found and it had been slashed. There was duct tape, a human tooth and a bone.

Police sources also revealed, the grill from Charli's SUV had been found. It was a recognizable part of the vehicle because of the skull ornament on it. When the missing 27-year old's SUV was found, it had been stripped, turned over, and burned. But the grill was not in the surf area known as 'Jaws'. The grill and possibly other part of the SUV were found late last week in a home in Haiku but we're told the people in the home are not 'suspects' in this case.

Thanks for doing my research for me. After a time the lines between fact and speculation tend to blur for me. :seeya:
