I've been trying to play catch up and I think I confuse myself even more. Where were these clothes found? The body still has not been found has it? If her jaw bone was found was there flesh attached or just bone?

Just beyond Honomanu is Nuaʻailua Bay where Charli's clothing and blanket were found. ... at “Paraquat's Beach”
No they have not found her. Only her jawbone, fingernails and a tooth.
The condition of the jawbone has not really been clarified thus far. The word defleshing has been used to describe it.

That to me sounds like he stripped her and she was burned.

Then why not burn the clothes too?

The tracking app in her phone had been deleted.

Even without a tracking app, the location can be approximated by the ping from the cell phone tower. It's less precise, but can give a ballpark location at a given time. Hopefully, the records from the cell phone tower are in the hands of the authorities.

I think the idea he is dumb came because of his Hawaii News Now interview Feb 13. And not being a good actor like someone trying to get away with murder would need to. If he planned to use the interview to get wrong info out then that might not be dumb. Otherwise giving the interview was dumb. Taking a polygraph was dumb. It is probably not admissable though.
Anyhow he was 24 year old. Even if he is smart he is inexperienced. That will seem dumb in ways. And someone who doesn't have normal social skills can seem dumb.
He is a millenial and used a lot of social media so so i think he would think about the phone ping.

I would argue that anyone who thinks they can get away with murder, literally, is dumb. Or rather, anyone who thinks they can get away with murder thinks they are smarter than LE - and everyone else. It's hard to fathom that some people don't understand the very serious consequences of their actions. I can't begin to understand the thought process that would lead someone to attempt to solve a life problem by killing someone. Even if that thought crossed your mind, wouldn't you think, "But if I get caught I will go to prison for the rest of my life..." ??? How can you not make that connection?

You missed a lot. There were several Facebook pages and craigslist posts etc that dropped hints.
I wish you were here through it all. You have great insight and seem to really care. We'll continue the journey now till he rots in a jail cell.
Have you come across the statement analysis? That was fascinating.

I saved a lot of the deleted stuff. :shush:

Wish all the Facebook pages were still up. I should have taken notes and pics of some of the stuff.
We'll come to you if we need anything!!

There were pictures on one of SC social media accounts. i don't remember which one. They were of a garage/workshop maybe. Does anyone know if that was on the grandfathers property? I just remember thinking he did this on the property quietly in this garage, hid her car and buried her on the property for a bit.

Please excuse me if I add a couple of tangents to the main direction of the conversation. I was doing some web searching yesterday and want to add a couple things before I lose the links.

Looking around at some SC social media mentions that I haven't seen ...
this caught my eye.

mudd'n with friend on dirt roads around Haiku on Feb 5, 4 days before disappearance.
We already know he is familiar with the dirt roads of the north shore, just a picture that illustrates him out and about the muddy roads that week. Plus you can see what it looked like around Haiku at that time. (tag is with chunk_obutter)

Nicely done
Note: the pics were dated 2013, but still helpful. It was an especially wet February last year. Mud.
It says "#Pauwela Lighthouse". Does anyone know the point in the upper pic? Is it looking at or seen from the lighthouse?
Has anyone done a weather recap for that week? Say... Feb. 4-12? (The world was closing in on SC... Gf. Was due back from PA soon...gotta act...)

[and, ( I know this is random--sorry!) ...does anyone know anything about how and by whom Charlie's grill was acquired? They hold a key and seem to have been forgotten about.]

Hi Napili,
I believe Charli's mother's boyfriend/husband?, Johnny custom made the grill for Charli. The eyes in the skull were red LED lights, if memory serves me. Very distinct, easily recognizable.

I'm sorry--I mean the people who were found with it after Charlie disappeared--how did they acquire it? (Thanks, MamaM., anyway, for the story of its origins. I didn't know that--Sweet and sad.) Something does seem distinctly wrong about it turning up in the hands of people who would have to have known either her car or her personally, wouldn't they? And where did they get it? Did I miss that discussion? It's hard to recall info and to know whether it was here or just known by the local sleuthers. My head spins!

The info on who had the grill AND parts was not released to the public. LE said the people are not suspects in the case. My memory is the house was in Haiku. LE did release street name of house SC allegedly burgled and vandalized in Sept. 2013 -- Eono Place, Haiku.

Oops about the 2013 instagram photo. Yes, a year earlier. (Playing catch-up right now.)

Re the media topic, it's a wonderful topic, but the posts that provoke even more thought are the "rumor" status posts on the now deleted Facebooks, and of course his own Facebook.
I remember a couple of meme "jokes" that were discussed on the "Study" Facebook. I thought I saved them but cannot find.
One was about how you have sex with someone and then nine months later, they hit you with child support or something like that.
The other was about a true friend will not only help you bury the body but will bring a shovel or something like that.
These are fuzzy recollections so don't take them as being exact. One was about the trap of an unwanted pregnancy, and one about friends helping you with a body.
Both are common enough jokes, but the interest is he liked both of them enough to post them in fall of 2013. (The pregnancy one would have been before he was told, but he could have had some concerns.)

I'm trying to remember. I am fairly certain that it was never divulged who ended up with the grill. But LE said they were not suspects. In my head I remember thinking he left it somewhere and someone picked it up, then after it all went mainstream those people turned it in. This is all my speculating...I could be completely wrong.

SC also had his car detailed and cleaned right after her disappearance....

I so wish I could be on his jury. So much of this info will never be heard by the jury.

For all who wonder how SC did not appreciate beautiful inside and out Charli and the prospect of fatherhood ... he was so not into maturity.
http://www.citysex.com/index.php?page=land/states_profile2&s=Hawaii&id=91773522

This City Sex profile (looking for random stranger sex) is still active.
Note he wants to meet females who are 18-20 years old, lists himself as 25 years old, race to be communicated later.
Lists his Body type as athletic, his status as single, and says the bar has been set very high (whatever that means).

Thing that struck me is Charli being 27, 7 years older than the top of his preferred age range. He wanted girls 5-7 years younger than himself. I am thinking that an older girl who was 21 was appealing when he was 18, but as he got a little older, he wanted less mature girls. He was so clearly not into Charli any more. His loss of course, entirely.

Yes, I remember all those pics and posts. I just wish those pages were still up to reference back to.

It was not divulged, which is not to say the info isn't known by some or many people in the area. It was parts too, not the grill alone.

It is very possible he took parts because he wanted to promote the idea that the usual vandals found the car and took parts that could be of value. The grill alone screams of hiding the car's identity, but the grill + parts can read as petty theft. Well, if he did the stripping as we spec, and gave it to people to hold, I just hope they are testifying to that.
