Just a heavy heart today that her family has to go through any of this

I've been feeling that a lot in light of the recent revelations. Sending aloha and strengthening energy to the Scott ohana today.

And why were her clothing and shoes removed? I have never quite understood that.

IMHO, he had a plan for disposing of Charli and Joshua's remains so that there would be no trace of them. And he needed to remove the clothing so that he could execute that plan. (Trying not to be macabre here.) Also, IMHO, the jawbone was left by accident. He was working in pitch darkness. The clothes, I am not so sure. I think he intended to retrieve them later and either got lazy or scared of being caught.

The article says that Charli left her sister's house at 8 PM, as was always the timeline, so that last article with 10 PM had an error.
Lots to talk about from this hearing on how the police handled things.

Yes, this is what I have always thought as a reasonable explanation for the clothes and the bone. Without being macabre, it's obvious that clothing does nothing but hamper any kind of plan to make her completely disappear, so it is removed. I don't see it as a statement of any kind. It was surely never meant by SC that anyone would see her body. No matter how angry or resentful he was, he didn't want life in prison, and the only way to avoid it was "no body."

I'm still not understanding how clothing would be that much of an issue for him?

Aaarghhhh........it's so frustrating to not be able to read Maui News' articles. The circulation manager at MN told me the app was free but a subscription was still necessary to access articles. Having trouble downloading app. (Because I'm a confirmed Luddite). Do any of you read MauiNews' articles for free with the app?
TIA, MM

Mama, it did let me read the whole thing on the app the first time.
I can't get a cached link yet because it's only 6 hours old and hasn't been Google-crawled yet? I'll keep checking.

If you google SC name and set the search for the past 24 hours the article comes up. No subscription needed. I was also able to view it on my iPhone earlier this afternoon and again on my laptop with no problem by searching this way. I have never had to subscribe to view any of their articles this way.
Here is the link. Not sure if it will work on here. But the above always works for me.

FYI, this one doesn't work, the link below works.

It was Steven's idea to take the poly. Very interesting. Why on earth would he do that?

Thanks Pua and HGO. I'll try downloading the app again. I can't read anything beyond the first few sentences without being prompted to subscribe (it must smell my hope/anxiety) Guess it won't break the bank to subscribe if the app doesn't work for me. Thanks for coming to my aid.

I sure hope they photographed the burn marks on his hands after they Mirandized him.

He seriously thinks he is smarter than everyone else. That's what happens wen you live in the jungle and the bar is set so low. He was trying to show he had nothing to hide I imagine. I've beat a polygraph.

He's narcissistic, arrogant, and thinks he's smarter than the cops and the polygraph test, IMHO. Also, he knows that polygraph evidence is inadmissible in court. His chances of getting away with this would have been far better had he told them, "No, I didn't see her that night and I have no idea where she is."

BTW, none of the links work for me.

I wonder what his demeanor in court is.

I doubt his lawyers will put him on the stand. Im going to try and attend a session but I work so danged much. At one point I was almost pleading with him to leave the island. Jump on the next private sailboat for Tonga. We dont need to pay for his prison time. He was so arrogant. Saying "This is my island" and "I will never leave". I wonder if e even remembersthose conversations. Regrets not heeding my old man advice. He didnt think think he would get caught. I told him he was a fool if he thinks they are going to stop coming after him. I even told him it would happen in July because that's when his Pot probation was up. The kid is such a fool. Its was macabre to see him driving down the road. In Mana Foods. Well he wont be driving or eating healthy anytime soon.

Petertosh, have they been able to figure out what happened? With little guessing or speculation?

Not that I know of. SC really incriminated himself by volunteering so much. That's really all the prosecution has as far as we know that ties SC to the murder. No doubt their inability to have that stricken kinda puts their case in jeparody.
