What struck me the most were his comments about the baby. If he was trying to give the impression that he was truly warming up to the idea of being in Joshua's life, he failed miserably, IMHO. I don't think Det. Loo bought it for a moment, and I don't think the jury is going to buy it either.
:cow:

He really was trying his best to make Loo believe he was an obliging man that, given the choice, would prefer to not have a child at 24, but would step up to the plate if Charli really, really wanted to be a mother. And she was sooooo happy about it as was everyone else, so, sure, he could definitely make the necessary changes to be a co-parent. I'm reasonable like that, ya know. What a crock. And he t hought Loo was buying it.

So good the interviews were allow into evidence for jury to hear. He is not at all believable and doesn't sound desperate to find her at all.

Oh, and I absolutely think that he knew that it was a boy.
at least he thought of it as a boy.

supposedly Charli did not know, and a girlfriend kept the secret from the sonogram for the planned shower. (Lydia G? - spec)
I think it's telling about his legacy. I think he felt not in control of this son at all, and he hated Charli's family and could not have been around the baby much without being around them.

back to his narcissistic disorder (spec), he may think he is sounding caring but doesn't understand how genuinely involved and happy parents to be sound and radiate feelings.

I had similar thoughts about the blanket. And for some reason it makes a bit more sense to me that he hid her body around there or removed it and stashed it elsewhere and went back home, especially if the grandfather is telling the truth that SC arrived home around 11:00 pm. He would then have time to contact a helper, if he did, to finish the deed. We really don't know if the found evidence was being taken to a disposal spot or being taken from the murder spot when it was dropped. What could have accounted for that major blunder?
If he got home at 11, why did he wait to phone Cassie until 2 am (I believe) when routinely they skyped around 9:00. (Please jump in with corrections). What could he have been doing during those 3 hours?
Yes, his disdain for Charli wasn't repressed too well, was it. Slipped in chummy, good old boy banter whenever he could at Charli's expense.
Thanks for getting at the crux of this. That is what I have been thinking. A two step deal, murder first, then disposal. Nala to Nahiku must have been Sunday? That takes some more time. Hope his phone tells a tale.

re the bungle, we know the jawbone pieces were six feet apart, probably not from dropping a bundle but could be. We know PS and friends didn't find it all. We know they smelled a stench that someone said was a dead pig up ahead, but maybe not.

This is a spec theory, put out there for feedback and other ideas:
Maybe SC had a simple plan in place like a pre-dug grave. He had not found this area his whole life in Maui, so he thinks it is super secret and hard to reach and he can bury her.
But then, the family mounts this incredible search effort, and Steven's friend Adam is at the helm. The police are sceptical of him. It's all much heavier than he imagines and more thorough, and his first site won't be enough long term. So then he goes for dismemberment and scattering and he goes to dig her up. But when they are leaving, someone comes down the road and they drop what they have and split. Certainly there was much more that they took away or took to the ocean or a gulch. What they had that was found was getting special treatment from them as the identifying elements.
Perhaps they intended to burn the clothes and bone and blanket.
Interruption is the only theory I have for why not. I see I said they but you might prefer the single HE.

I don't think they'll allow Brooke to tell her story about Charli being driven against her will towards Hana in January. Apo will jump up with an objection and say it's hearsay because Charli is not able to testify and admit or deny the event happened.

yes, it is hearsay as to what he did as far as establishing fact, and probably all of it. If Brooke observed Charli looking all upset and fresh from the trauma, possibly she could state her observation of Charli for state of mind.
Not looking good for this evidence.

Im pretty sure he claims the 3.2 miles where his truck was stuck is AFTER Keanae, not before. This I think is to divert from the area he actually took her to, Paraquat Bay Rd (don't know what it's actually called). I'm pretty certain Paraquat Bay Rd is not 3.2 miles before Keanae, I would've guessed 1 mile, 2 at most. It's between Keanae & the road to Hanamanu. I took it by mistake a few years ago ( before she went missing, I'd never go down there now), the entrance only is paved, then dirt and quickly deteriorates.,I had a front wheel drive car and almost got stuck, and it's super narrow to turn around in, i was lucky I could. I heard the road is so bad you can't even take it all the way down to the bay, at some point got to park & walk.

As I recall, his testimony is that he took the family out there, not the police.

Yes when I did my search not long after 2/9 the family put a orange cone and a sign after Keanae which read "Where Charli was last seen". However I believe that mark to be farther than 3.2 miles as I remember from my 3 Hana Relay Running races.

Regardless I have learned not to believe what he says. For example the place where his truck supposedly was ( I believe the orange cone with the sign) Was just a dirt turn out with a slight angle. Certainly not enough to shake a battery loose much less rip the cable from the terminal. Omg. So stupid. Sick.

Exactly, RDS. Three days after her disappearance and there is not a hint of concern in his voice. He's all breezy and chatty. So fake.

Gosh, this dude kills his own kid... But, Charli was not GOOD enough for him???

Not to add more confusion but is the infamous Mile Marker 20 the "3.2 miles past Keanae" where he broke down? Right along the Waikani Falls?

We know the stuck truck story is bogus because hello, he starts walking home to Haiku from Mile Marker 20? Not at all stressed out because he is miles from home? I'm not going to give anymore credence to his STS/stuck truck story. I do think those locations are important however in locating Charli's remains.

MamaM, you asked if Kim Scott would testify on Friday? I think it depends on whether or not Loo's testimony will be wrapped up. He still hasn't been cross examined.

By the way, Apo's face while the audio plays... lol.

Mr. APOplectic!

Is anyone watching/listening? I cannot get to the live feed from work.

Court may not yet have reconvened since lunch. Should start up about now, 4:30 Cali time. I was watching up until lunch.

4:43 now and it's not streaming for me. I'll post when I do get it.

ok, thats where I was and its the bars. Thought maybe I was in the wrong place.
I will say the media coverage has been excellent.
I read a recap of the earlier Loo testimony. Was the family called yet?
Anyone have a recap or thoughts?

Loio said Loo will be cross examined before Kim (and I read "a sister") will testify.
Would you post the link for the written testimony, please.

SC needs a more professional acting coach. The hand over his mouth bit was embarrassing.

In interview 2/28 SC says Adam told him the he (Adam) went to doctor with Charli and heard the baby's heartbeat and that he (SC) had just found out in January.

So was it actually Adam and not SC at that the first planned parent appt that the first witness testified or was another trip Adam went to? I'm confused.
