Interesting thinking about leaving Nala in Makawao, Kapua. I can't imagine Charli being alive at the point he went to Nahiku, so where did he kill her? If she were already deceased when he dropped off Nala in Nahiku then would he have been backtracking? (Longer time on hwy). Or had he gone closer to Hana or beyond to kill her? I doubt we'll never know the whole truth.

I can't imagine Charli being conscious at the point where Nala was dropped off in Nahiku. Either he dropped Nala off before the murder, or after. Maybe the testimony as to the condition of the dog when she was found will shed some light. Or not.

I just had a thought. HIS cell phone records might show when he was in Nahiku and when he was in Keanae. And we know that hers last pinged in Keanae area? - can't remember the exact time. But, again, the cell phone records are crucial to this case, IMHO.

Good thought, Kapua....a possible timeline there.

He didn't count on the family lying about what circumstances? The missing dog?

Right, HER phone ping was at 11 PMish,
already the time he claimed to be home.
Mama, Nahiku is farther down the highway.

so it goes, in order ...
Haiku - his home and Brooke's house where Charli last seen
Peahi - torched vehicle
Twin Falls/Ulalena - his story of last seeing her lights
Kaumahina - 9-10 MM - blue jeans
Honomanu &
Nua'ailua Bay, about 13 MM (approx, no map in front of me) - body parts and her clothes and blanket
her phone's last ping, about 11 PM
Keanae peninsula
18 MM - 19 MM above Wailua valley - drag marks and something went over edge.
20-21 MM about 3 miles past Keanae - SC points out spot he says he broke down an family marks with cone.
Nahiku Marketplace -- 29 MM on highway where Nala found (Quite a bit farther towards Hana) -
lower Nahiku Road, narrow road from highway to ocean- Stoner Ohana friends of Charli

Loio, has court convened, yet. Not on KHON.

It's on Court Chatter on YouTube. The defense asked to redact the last portion of the tape that was played on Friday.

Then, clearly, SC's account that his grandfather, CY, told him that he returned around 11 is false. Unless it was 11:59... or SC changed all of CY's clocks.

OK, why is the bit about Fiona being redacted? I understand the redaction wasn't accurately done on the transcript, but why redact it at all. Also, the jury heard it, right? Can't unring a bell.

Ohhhhh, bring that home for the jury, Rivera.

We all heard it. I didn't hear why it is being redacted, but it really has no bearing on the case.

Yes, thanks Pua. I didn't word my post well at all......I used "backtracking" incorrectly. I meant, if Charli was killed at/near Paraquats then SC would have had to travel much further towards Hana to drop off Nala near Nahiku. Then he would have had to backtrack. It all just means increased time on the hwy which would greatly add to the risk of him being seen/caught.
Also, to me it implies the murder was not well thought out.

Speaking of being seen/caught, do any locals know how often that stretch of road is patrolled at night? I can't imagine that there's a huge police presence on that rural road late at night, but I also assume somebody has to do rounds to ensure that no one is stranded on the highway. In my neck of the woods, the CHP would tag any unattended vehicle on the roadside. Maybe we will hear testimony by the officer assigned to patrol that area.

More than ever, I feel like he didn't stage anything. It seemed like carelessness the way he left stuff all around. I also don't think he dismembered her whole body. It's such a tedious process that requires a lot of space (it's on youtube). I always go back to the burning of the car. Like a kid that gets into the cookies and tries to hide the empty box by throwing it away.

I live off a 2 lane hwy that is a main conduit to a very popular coastal tourist destination, as is Hana,
and we rarely see any CHP...never on a regular basis. I imagine it's similar on the Hana hwy on a Sunday night.

I don't see SC attorneys interaction with him at all. Same shirt for SC everyday? His attorneys, aunt, or grandfather can't hook him up with a clean fresh shirt?

One of the very few reactions from him day 5 part 2 around 13 minute mark he laughs at his own statement about hardly ever drinking but quickly catches himself. One of the few reactions I've seen from him. Wonder what he found so funny about that, that he actually had a reaction?

Day 5, Part 2? Are you on Court Chatter?

What if we speculated that they all three went to Nahiku. SC kicked Nala out of the car and started driving back as he didnt want her protector around. Forget 18/19/20/21 MM's. . He takes her to Paraquats and kills her. Throws his jeans away Kaumahina. Prepares to get rid of her car. If we start in Nahiku it takes the question of backtracking out.

PT, does that line up with a reasonable timeframe? Could she have met him on Hana instead of picking him up as he claims?
