I'm surprised the court gives any credence to a "Concerned Citizen" letter. Name, please.

Concerned Citizen needs to stop. I hope they figure out who is doing this.

There were women who were against the Study page vociferously. Beyond the basic harassment of the ChunkOKutter FB page but taking the innocent until proven guilty and I am his friend to whole new level so I imagine its either one of them...his Aunt Susan...his Brother or his Cousin. Maybe one of his boys from the hood but Im feeling its a woman.

Now I am not sure who controls his FB page but his friends list is hidden..in my book...ALL OF A SUDDEN

This is obstruction of justice and whoever is doing this should face charges. And this person or persons is not helping him. Because if they do succeed in causing a mistrial and SC is retried, guess what? The DNA evidence is back on the table.

IMHO :cow:

I don't feel like there's much chance of a mistrial. Maui County can't afford a second trial, and I'm sure Cardoza is well aware. Unless there is something egregious, I expect he will just go through the required motions and then say it's fine to keep going.

Ditto. It wasn't on the app yet either. Anything worrisome?

After the 12 jurors and four alternates were questioned one by one Friday afternoon, First Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Robert Rivera and defense attorney Jon Apo said they were satisfied with their responses.

"So there's no grounds to excuse or exclude any of them at this point," Rivera said.

When 2nd Circuit Judge Joseph Cardoza asked Capobianco whether he was in agreement with what his attorney said, Capobianco replied, "I am."

"Do you want us to pursue this any more?" Cardoza asked.

"No," Capobianco replied.

--------------------------------------------------------------

During that questioning, all 16 jurors said they hadn't talked to one another or others about the case.

Cardoza said that a first name matching one juror was mentioned in one communication, alleging the juror "calls someone each night to discuss what happened during the course of the trial."

"I'm calling someone?" the juror with the matching first name said when he was brought into the courtroom and told about the allegation. "I find that immensely amusing because I don't call anybody other than my wife to pick me up."

The juror said he hadn't called anyone to talk about the trial and doesn't use "social media, telephones, email."

"I'm honestly bewildered," he said.

"If you want me to step down, I'll step down," the juror said.

"No one's asking you to step down," Cardoza told the juror.

---------------------------------------------------------------

In saying that he hadn't spoken with fellow jurors about the evidence, one juror said, "It's actually kind of a very serious thing to all of us," especially after the questioning last week.

"I have been trying to leave even my thoughts here because I know it's a serious situation and it's not a light subject and I try not to take that home every day," the juror said. "Because you drive yourself insane if you do."

Rivera, Apo, Judge Cardoza, and SC are all satisfied with the jurors’ responses to the allegations of misconduct. Can we move on with the trial now?

Yes please. :tantrum:

I have watched all of the videos for this trial and I was so worried I would accidently see the verdict before I watched them all! I'm so relieved it isn't even over yet! I can now safely look at Websleuths! I skipped over the evidence about the body parts. Would someone just fill me in about what was found and whether an opinion was offered about how Charli died? Thank you!

The prosecution hasn't finished their case yet, and they haven't yet presented a theory about how Charli died.

Summary of what was found (regulars please feel free to fill in anything I missed or messed up.)

Charli's blue polka dot top, black skirt, blanket (with maggots), and Twilight DVD were found by Phaedra Wais, Molly Wirth, and Max Jones on Thursday, February.13, 2014.

Two pieces of jawbone, fingertips, black bra, clumps of red hair, and a piece of flesh w/body piercing were found by police officers on Friday, February 14, 2014.

No video was taken of the trial proceedings for several weeks. You can catch up by reading these great long articles from Maui Now. I did a search for "steven capobianco" so this link should give you the complete list.

Nothing yet. I am concerned that Cardoza might order no cameras after the discussion Friday. Mentions the live stream showed a couple jurors and talked about limiting media IIRC.

And.... live stream is UP (Channel 54). And.... they are already having a sidebar.

Are you getting anything? Still looks off air to me, hopefully no more anonymous emails to hold up this trial
never mind, got it to work…they're in conference

OOOOOH, they are talking about the search warrant for the cell phone records!!! There will be a lot of objections during this testimony.

Cell phone technology as explained by the witness (just got back from a meeting, don't know the witness' name.)

In 2G the phone identifies the tower with the strongest signal. It stacks them in order of strongest to weakest.

in 3G the phone measures the strongest signal AND the noise (strongest and CLEAREST signal). It will choose the tower with the "best" signal, using a mixture of strength and noise.

Strong witness. Might be an FBI agent? I don't think the defense will rattle him. Edited to add, yes, it is an FBI agent.

I am such a geek. I love learning about this technology!
