I am pretty sure the husband was jealous that the he now had to share the attention with kids. It is also common that intimate life of the couple changes after having a kid, let alone having two little ones - this could be his trigger for inventing insults against his wife. But maybe he didn't even need a trigger.
He is clearly a violent and abusive man, they usually find a way to create triggers and reasons for their actions one way or the other.

He has another adult son, though. He knew what raising children was like. I suspect he has had "issues" his entire life.

Alert my own post to have the thread name cha her. Her name should be there; she’s the victim.

Arielle Konig age 36
I did not include the victim’s name in the post as the new post instructions state, “However, if the victim(s) survived, privacy may be an issue and we would then use the perp's name instead.”

I didn’t know that. Thanks for explaining.

I also was struck by the fact that after fleeing the scene of his assault on his wife, GK FaceTimed one of his adult children (from the marriage that preceded his current marriage to AK) to report that he’d “just tried to kill Ari but she got away.” That’s just chilling. If he is tried for the second-degree attempted murder charge, I wonder if a jury will see this call as proof that he was not thinking clearly/was delusional at the time of the crime or as evidence that he despised his wife to such a degree that it didn’t occur to him that his children/her stepchildren would care all that much if she was murdered. I am glad that the poor child who received that call shared the substance of it with the victim, and hope for peace and healing for them along with AK and her other children and stepchildren.
There is the possibility this child was his “sounding board” for complaints about the marriage and he assumed they’d be ok with his attempt. Maybe even plan how to deal with the situation.

The following article is a good recap and has some additional information.

1. AK stated that, during the struggle with Konig, she “managed to grab the syringe and throw it away from them, […] but she saw he was still holding a vial of something and started looking in his bag. AK suspected he was looking for another syringe, […] and it was then […] she bit her husband's forearm.” Hopefully, investigators were able to recover the syringe and run tests to determine the substance it held.

2. AK confirmed, "If I had fallen off the cliff, I would have likely died."

3. Konig allegedly “also told his son that he wanted to jump off a cliff and kill himself” in the FaceTime after the attack.

4. Konig’s attorney “told E! News that his client is scheduled to appear at his arraignment April 7 and will be entering a plea of not guilty to the charge of attempted murder.”

5. “Another hearing on the petition is scheduled for April 11, according to NBC News.”

From the article:
"There are two sides to every story, and thus far only one side has been shared," he said. "The other side to this story will be shared within the court process at the appropriate time."

Huh?
Really?
Like what? Oh I know, a spider was caught up in her hair and he tried to kill it. In reality he was helping her so it wouldn't bite her. 😏

Defense attorneys must say there is another side of the story, their client looks forward to defending himself/herself, the real truth will surprise everyone... all while they hope a plea deal or technicality/error is coming for their client. My opinion.

Instead of draging out everyone in a long drawn-out process, why not just have a press release, state your side of the situation and let your peers see the truth?

Because @ChatteringBirds you are exactly right!
