Hurricane Florence was too far eastward to have effected the weather much on Sept 10, 2006. Maybe a stronger offshore breeze for a few days, not a lot of rain. C103 Canal begins right Homestead Bayfront Park in Biscayne Bay. It curves and meanders north of Homestead. He probably went into the water close to where he was discovered.

@PayrollNerd, any chance that the logo on the windbreaker read "Marine's Club" instead of "Manner's Club"? I can't find the trademark Manner's Club so, I'm wondering if maybe our JD worked at Mariner's Club Key Largo and it was a uniform windbreaker? MOO JMO

Mariner’s Club makes more sense, like a boating or yachting group in the area, if not a resort.

Key Largo is 30 miles so that’s possible. Housing is scarce everywhere in the Keys. It would make sense if he lived in the Homestead area. He could have been fishing along the canal and fell in too.

I wonder if he was homeless & hungry because he was very thin for his height.

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 105 lbs

Quoting myself to correct my original post. I meant "Mariner's Club" and not "Marine's Club".

I wonder if he was homeless & hungry because he was very thin for his height.

Height: 5'10"
Weight: 105 lbs

Our Doe's FLUIDDB profile has an estimated weight between 105 lbs and 150 lbs and age range 46-60.
He doesn't look emaciated nor older than 40-45. In fact, the sketches appear to depict two different men. These discrepancies make it hard to guess what our JD may have looked like. MOO JMO

I've often wondered if in some cases the weight that is recorded is the actual weight of the remains as opposed to the projected weight of the decedent in life.
