How Did the Side Door Get Opened?/Door Locks/Use of Cinder Block**REVISITED**

------------
Yeah, and remember the neighbors report of seeing the children outside playing? and the report that GGM saw the children eating on the front porch. This blows the statement that Ron locked the doors himself...........KWIM? Also, in one of Ron's stories, Misty is standing in the doorway when he pulls into the yard coming home from work. Makes you think that she had a key or the doors were left open. But, the doors being left open also blows Ron's story of locking the doors before he left.........go figure????????

Well, the story about the neighbors seeing the children playing is allegedly on the HLN tape that is MIA, IIRC - so I'm not going there. Also, I'm not 100% on board with AS's visit story.

However, if the DB on the front door was the kind with a knob on the interior, Misty could've opened it at any time. She just wouldn't be able to lock the MH up when she left. The only way she could've really been locked in would be if the doors needed a lock to open them from the indoors. I'm pretty sure the side door just had a knob, but I don't know about the front door.

Well, he can have locked the back door and the screen door all right, Misty was standing on the front door when she pulled in and the kids probably used the front door to get on the front porch. I think he was probably just talking about the back doors because that's what all the door talk on those talk shows was usually focused on.

I think you're right about locking Ron's locking both side doors, Donjeta.

Did they have the dogs trace from the front door or just the back?

Has anyone read or heard if the dogs were used at the Tyler residence? Or even around the Tyler residence (Misty's brother's house?).

Is it just me, or do all of you also feel like we are just going around in circles?

sure, I don't think there's much that has not been said several times already

it's time for some new news

very o/t...but has anyone else noticed that one of the advertisements for this thread is for a 'lock bump key'? How strange is that!?

I never heard of bump keys till RC brought it up....funny how he was familiar with them.

I think Ronald said he checked and locked the back doors before he left for work. However, reports state that Misty fed the kids that night and the kids ate on the front porch. Misty states she left the AC man in the house alone to service the AC. Do we know for sure what time RC left for work that night? Because he very well could have checked the doors and they were locked, but if the AC man used the back door at any point it wouldn't have made a bit of difference if Ronald checked the doors before he left for work. LE could very well have confirmed additional facts from the AC man...ie..he used the door and didn't lock it, the thing is we just don't know what facts LE is privy to. I keep saying I think they with-held a lot to keep the tips coming in. All just my opinion of course.

How did the side door get open? Misty

Okay, Ron and Misty said they "never use the back door". But then go on to say just to take out the trash and vacuum out the car. So they probably mean they never use it to go in and out of the MH. There are trash bags in the reporters photos of the side door, just to the side of the ramp. Do we know if it was trash night Monday and pickup Tuesday? If they took out the trash, and put it off to the side Monday night for Tuesday pickup, they may have forgotten to lock the door. The photo was taken while the MH was still in the custody of LE IIRC. So that means the collectors couldn't pick it up as LE had the place taped off and wouldn't let anything including trash be taken off the property until they went thought it. Ron and Misty were living in tents so they didn't go and put out trash after she went missing, so the trash was out there at least that night.

If the front door was not locked, it would not matter if the back door was locked or not when Misty went to bed or if Ronald locked it before he left for work. It could be opened from the inside at any time without a key.

We know the front door was used several times before Ronald got home from work so the question really is, "Was the front door locked when Misty went to bed?". IMO, the answer is no.

Lock bumping is nothing new. Nothing wrong or suspicious with Ronald knowing about it. With a relative in LE and being it is probably common knowledge around the cop shop, I would expect him to know about it.

If the person came in the front door, could they exit the back door if the deadbolt was in place? No, they need to bump it or have the key. So this person comes in the front, goes to the bedroom with others just a foot or so away, grabs Haleigh, keeps her quiet so she doesn't wake up Misty or Jr. He then goes to the back door, he takes Haleigh's shirt off and puts it in the bottom of the laundry pile to hide it. Then he gets his tools to bump the lock and opens the door, shoves cloths under it to keep it open, because in the video it closes by it's self to about 3 inches of the screen door. Now he gets his brick, that he brought, because Ron states he never saw that brick before, props open the screen door, all the while he has Haleigh quiet and not kicking or making noise and takes her down the ramp and there are no tire tracks so he carries her off. Or does he do the back door first then run around the front and go in that way just to throw us off????? What do you think?

IIRC, the deadbolt was not a key lock on the inside, but had a little bar which turned to unlock it. It would not be neccesary to have a key or to bump it.

We don't know if Haleigh removed her own shirt sometime during the night and put on something else.

IMO, the screendoor was propped open before the perp found the door locked then went to the front to enter thru an unlocked door. If entry was made from the backdoor, the clothes on the floor would have been pushed back and not been a problem when leaving to keep the door from closing. If it was opened from the inside, the perp's feet could have kicked clothes in the way to prevent it from closing tho.

I don't think the perp parked right by the mh. IMO, he/she took Haleigh out the side door and under the cover of the shadows carried her to a car parked away from there so there would be no tire tracks by the mh.

Okay, Ron said it was bumped, so you must need a key. Anyway, if he came in the front, why go to all the bother that I just posted to go out the back? Why not just go out the same door you came in? Oh, I forgot, he turned on the light as he was leaving because he couldn't see to open the door.
